Athena's POV

The next day, Eli and I say on the grass in front of the castle, poking fun at each other and making the stupidest jokes you could imagine. I still hadn't seen the three fifth-years I'd been looking for, but I didn't mind right now. All I was thinking about right now was that ongoing to be getting married to the guy I'm in love with, and my family is going to be there. My father will be able to walk me down the isle and give me away. And If the thought of that didn't cheer me up, what would?

"So, imagine. You're walking towards Fred on your wedding day, bam. You trip and fall and I'm in the front. The only one laughing, which you know I would."

"Oh I wouldn't doubt that. I could see that now. And I think Remus would laugh. Actually, I know he would laugh." I giggled.

"Yeah, but where are you going for your honeymoon?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

"We just got engaged, calm down woman." I laughed.

"Yes, but he'll probably take you wherever you wanted to go!" She exclaimed. I slowly shook my head.

"No, I wouldn't go anywhere extravagant. His family doesn't have a lot of money." I said.

"But you're a Black, Athena! You're one of the richest wizarding family's known, other than the Malfoy's."

"Don't you think it's weird. A Malfoy and a Black best friends. It seems almost stereotypical, you know? The two well-known pure-blood families best friends." I said.

"Yeah, but we're both the outcasts, so what's it matter?"

"True. You know, it's sickening to think I'm related to that git," I said, nodding my head towards Draco Malfoy, who was laughing and being followed by his two friends, or more likely, baboons.

"I know. It's worse for me. I have the same last name. When I tell people they're always like 'Lucius, Lucius! Narcissa! Draco!' Like shut the hell up," she said in the highest pitched voice she could muster and shook her head and I burst out laughing.

"Yes, I'm sure every single one of them sounded exactly like that, Eli."

"The sad part it, most of them did." She said darkly and I fell over onto my side from laughing so hard. The thought of people saying that and the look on her face nearly killed me.

"Oh look, if it isn't the filthy half-blood. You know you're such a disgrace to our family. Honestly. I'm surprised you could even come back here and show your face." Draco sneered while the other two laughed. I jumped to my feet so fast and drew my wand out.

"Say it again, Malfoy. I dare you." By this time my wand was at his neck and he looked terrified.

"Y-you wouldn't!"

"Watch me, you prat."

"M-my father will hear about this!"

"Oh yes, I'm sure you'll run straight to daddy. What could he do? My family has already been a disgrace to the wizarding world for years. I'd like to see him try and fuck things up more," I rolled my eyes at his stupidity. "Now, I dare you to open your fat mouth again and say one more stupid, useless, blood-related insult again. I dare you." I hissed. "I'm sure mummy and daddy wouldn't want their precious son turned into a ferret again, would they." I smirked.

"That's getting a little old, isn't it?" He said, reaching for his wand. I kicked him in the shin and he immediately drew his hand away, groaning in pain.

"I must say it's a shame you made a better rodent that human," I said, disgusted. "Now you listen to me." I started and he stared at me. "If I hear you make one more pointless slur about the purity of their blood to ANYONE, I will not hesitate to hex you. Do you understand?" I growled and he nodded. "Then leave, and don't forget that, either. I hear you fancy calling Hermione a mudblood, yeah?"

He stayed silent.

"Answer me, Malfoy."

"I hope you realize that even a family of the most mixed ancestry will be better than yours. Now go, so I don't have to see your ugly face again." I moved my wand away and the three left immediately. "I'm surprised he hadn't won the 'git of the year' award." I spat, turning back to Eli.

"M-Merlin that was amazing!" She was laughing so hard she could barely hold herself up.

"Well, he got less than he deserved, didn't he?" I asked, shoving my wand back in my robes.

"Sure, sure. Thank you, though. Really." She said, pulling me into a hug. I smiled and returned the favour.

"Really, it was no problem. I would defend you any day and I love an excuse to scare the wits out of the little arse." I told her.

"Well, you do a great job of it." She told me and I smiled triumphantly.

"Right, now let's go for a little walk and hope we don't run into them again." I said and she nodded. We began to walk around the outside of the castle and saw many couples together. We didn't know where Umbridge was so all the couples were together while they could be. I found it adorable that they were still together after the hag tried to keep them separated all year.

"You know, I haven't seen Ginny either." Eli told me and I thought for a moment.

"You're right.... I wonder where all of then are." I said. She shrugged and we kept walking. Eventually, Eli started to pick up the pace a little and I started to stray behind. So, instead of running to catch up to her, I ran up behind her and jumped on her back.

"Oh, you twat." She laughed and held me up.

"Thanks. Now onward you trusty steed!" I said and pointed forward. She laughed and ran in the direction I was pointing and eventually she came to a stop in front of the castles entrance. "Well what are you doing?! Keep going my noble companion!" I yelled and she laughed, but obeyed and began to run again.

She skidded to a halt when a tall woman with her arms crossed stood in front of us. "Professor McGonagall," I greeted with a smile, jumping off of my best friend. She nodded but gave me a look of something I hadn't seen from her before. Sympathy.

"Ms. Black, just the girl I've been looking for. Could you follow me please, I have something very important I need to talk to you about." Eli and I looked at each other and then back at her.

"Can Eliana come with me?" I asked. She hesitated for a moment.

"It's quite personal, but I don't think it's a terrible idea for someone to be with you when I tell you. So yes, she may." I smiled. "Well, follow me to my office."

Once we got there, she sighed and took a seat at her desk. "Athena, I think we need to discuss what events took place at the ministry yesterday evening." She told me, and my heart dropped.
