Lean On Me - Sequel to Proud To Be

In Athena Black's sixth year, she faces so much more things since previous years. With her father an escaped convict of Azkaban, and her godfather a werewolf, it brings much more trouble than you'd think. So when things start to get rough, her long time best friend and boyfriend, Fred Weasley, is more than willing to be there, so she can lean on him if in need.

Athena's POV

"Athena, dear!" Mrs. Weasley called out to her from the kitchen.

"Yes?" I answered, walking out.

"The others are leaving, if you wanted to say goodbye." She smiled at me. I nodded and returned the favour, looking at my boyfriend and his siblings and father, along with Harry and Hermione. The only two people in the house other than me that wasn't a redhead. I smiled at him.

"Have fun you guys, and don't get yourselves in too much trouble." I laughed. Fred stepped forward and took my hand.

"I can't promise anything, but I'll try for you." He said, placing a small kiss on my lips. My cheeks burned a bright red, and I smiles sheepishly. "Don't lose Harry or Ginny for gods sake," I added.

"That I think we can handle." George pipes up this time. I rolled my eyes at him.

"Who knows with you," I joked. "Now go have fun. I love you," I directed the last part to Fred and kisses his cheek.

"I love you too, Athena. We'll be back in a few days." He said with a smile.

"And I'll be here." I said, hugging him. He hugged back and smiled as we parted.

After they left, I say down with Mrs. Weasley and had a cup of tea. I'd always thought of Mrs. Weasley as a mother figure. She'd always been there, and never really cared what you did. She accepted you for you and I think that's wonderful. I'd volunteered to stay home while the others went to the World Cup, because honestly, Quidditch just wasn't my thing. They understood that and that's why I stayed at the Burrow.

"So how's he treating you, dear?" She asked me, which took me a little off guard.

"Oh, what?" I asked.

"Oh," I smiled, a small blush appearing on my cheeks. "Amazing, actually." I said.

"Oh, how wonderful! I think you two are rather cute together. Glad it was you that got him," she said, causing me to blush even more.

"Well I'm lucky I got him," I said sheepishly.

"Ah, I think it's the other way around." She smiled. I looked behind her and out the window, and to my surprise, I saw my owl flying closer and closer.

"Oli?" I questioned.

"Oli?" Me's. Weasley repeated. I smiled at her.

"My owl," I smiled. "But why would... My OWL results!" I exclaimed.

Oli landed in front of me and I took the piece of parchment. I smiled and fed him an owl treat. He happily chirped and nibbled on my finger. I laughed at him and unrolled the parchment and looked over it carefully.

I stared at it until I had to look away. I had gotten a T in DADA. I had gotten a Troll. I felt as though I was going to cry, or be sick. Maybe both.

"How'd you do, dear?" Mrs. Weasley asked, still smiling. I shook my head, standing up. "What's the matter?" She asked, now sounding worried. I pointed to where DADA was on the parchment and she gasped. "That can't be right, it just can't be!"

By this time, I couldn't think of anything else other than the T that stood so prominent next to the class I was sure I'd pass, in the very least. "I'll be upstairs," I barely whispered, and turned to walk up to Fred and George's room. I collapsed into the bed in a heap of sobs.

The first time I cried since the day I thought I'd lose my father for good.

I couldn't help but take out a quill and parchment and begin to write a strongly worded letter to my uncle.
