Athena's POV

"Today's the day, there's no need to be nervous. You'll do good, and trust me, don't worry if you lose, just make it out alive." I said, gripping Harry's shoulder tightly.

"I know, I'll be alright."

"I know you will, Harry." I said, pulling him into a hug. "I love you, and I'll be here when you're done," I said and smiled. "You really do have your mothers eyes." He grinned, and despite being a nervous wreck, I let him go. "Good luck, Harry."

I walked away and Fred seemed to be in the right place at the right time, because I practically fell into his arms. "Woah, you okay?" He asked and I nodded.

"Just worried,"

"Don't be, he'll be fine." He said.

"I hope you're right... he's like my little brother, and I don't want anything to happen to him." I paused for only a few seconds. "And I'd hate to see what would happen to the world if something were to happen to him," I laughed, humourlessly.

"I don't even think I want to know what would happen," Fred smiled.

"What we talking about over here?" George looked out of nowhere and wrapped an arm around my shoulder.

"Nothing much," I shrugged and smiled at him. "Take me away, trusty steed," I said, motioning for him to pick me up. He did so and began to quickly walk away from Fred with me in his arms.

"Hey," Fred said, just realizing what happened. "Hey! Come back with my girl!" He shouted, chasing after us.

"Go!" I laughed as George climbed out of the portrait hole, still holding on to me. "He's catching up," I told him and he began to run a little faster. We were getting close to the Entrance Hall when a talk, dark figure stepped in front of us.

"What would you three be doing?" It asked when Fred skidded to a halt behind us.

"I could ask the same question, Snape. Shouldn't you be catching up with your old buddy Karkaroff?" I asked, coldly.

"Keep your mouth shut, Black. You should be getting ready for Potters last task, as it is in an hour," he drawled.

"Come off it, Snape. We were just having fun. Something you should learn how to do." I said, jumping down from George's arms andy turning around.

I sat in the seat next to Fred, while George sat in the other side of me. Ron, Hermione, Molly and Bill sat close behind us, too. I was grasping Fred's hand so right I was afraid I might break it, but he didn't complain. Not once.

"He'll be fine, Athena. Don't worry." He said, rubbing my lower back with his hand I didn't have in my death grip.

"I know, I know. I just and help but think..."

"Thinking is bad, and you shouldn't do it so often." He smiled. I rolled my eyes at him and kissed him softly and laid my head on his shoulder.

"Coming from you, who barely ever thinks." I said, smiling.

"That is rude, Athena. Very rude." He said.

"Yeah, well, I love you." I stopped talking and turned my attention to Dumbledore, who was now announcing who was going in first.

When all the students were in, I let out a breath I hadn't realized I was holding. "Fred... I don't like this." I told him, hiding my face in his neck.

"I know, it'll be fine. Stop worrying," he whispered and ran his hand through my hair.

"He's only fourteen! What the hell are they thinking? He could get hurt or.. Or..." I couldn't finish the sentence, I wouldn't let myself. He was going to come out perfectly fine and I'm going to have worried about nothing this whole time. I know it.

"I know, it's kind of stupid they let him compete when he didn't even put his own name in."

"He doesn't know half the things that the others do..." I said, moving closer to him.

Half an hour, and hour, an hour and a half, two hours, two and a half hours and finally three. Fleur and Victor both came back, defeated, but Cedric and Harry were still in there. I began to get more worried by the second and my grip Fred's hand tightened more and more each minute. I looked at him when the three and a half hour neared it's mark and I didn't want to believe what might've happened. And just when I felt like it was all over, he was there. He was on the ground in front of us, and he was okay. A strange happiness fell over me and I wanted to cry, because he was alright, and I didn't have to worry anymore.

I stood up, prepared to run up and greet him, congratulate him and hug him and never let go, but when I did so my heart fell and I felt so sick to my stomach. He was hunched over a still body, paler than you could imagine, and he was crying.

"Cedric." I said, holding into whoever was beside me for support, which I later realized what George. "Oh my god." I slapped a hand over my mouth, praying that my eyes were deceiving me, but it was really true. Cedric Diggory was dead.

His father made his way through the crowd, even though we had been told to stay where we were. He was crying and yelling and it broke my heart to see a family being torn apart so easily. I turned around, not able to watch what was happening and I wanted to cry for a whole new reason.

"Fred," I whimpered, pushing past people to get to him.

"Shh, come here." he whispered and pulled my into his chest. I wrapped my arms around him and he held me in his arms as I tried to block out the sound of Amos' cries. "It's okay," he must've noticed how upset this was making me, because he didn't dare let me go.

"He's dead. He's really dead. Oh my god."

"Yes, he is. It's okay, everything will be okay, I promise."
