Proud To Be - Sirius Black's Daughter

Being the daughter of one of the most well known criminals was never a good factor in my life. I never had a father to look up to, to cherish and to love. Just some old photographs and an occasional childhood memory from Remus. But the day I met him, though I had already known he was innocent, that was the day I saw him for what he truly was. And I could honestly say that I was proud to be a Black.

Athena's POV

"OWLs, OWLs, OWLs, that's all you ever talk about!" Fred whined, laying beside me. "You're as bad as Hermione!"

"Fred, I just don't want to fail," I told him softly.

"But you don't need this stuff, I told you, just come work at the joke shop with us and you'll be fine." He tells me while he plays with my hair.

"I know, I know. And I might just take you up on that offer, but I still want good marks so if that doesn't work out, I could easily obtain another career." I shrugged and he smiled.

"Ooh, big words." He teased, smiling.

"Oh shut up. Don't you have Quidditch practice?" I ask him.

"Just trying to get rid of me, aren't you?" He asked.

"No!" I laughed, kissing him on the lips softly.

"Yes, I do actually. And I should go," he said, kissing my cheek and standing up. I pouted but got up too, hugging him. "Athena," he said.

"Fred," I mimicked him, holding onto him tighter.

"You're gonna have to let go if I'm going to Quidditch practice." He told me, wrapping his arms around my waist.

"I know. I'll walk down to the pitch with you and then I'll go study with Remus again." I tell him and smile.

"Alright, let's go." He said and grabbed my hand, lacing our fingers together.

We walked together, not that slow but not too fast either. We took our time and once we got to the pitch, I let go of his hand.

"Have fun," I kissed him on the lips and he pulled me closer and didn't let me go. He only kissed me harder when I tried to pull away, not that I cared. "Fred," I mumbled against his lips, but he didn't care.

I heard a wolf whistle from behind up and I broke away, blushing a dark red. I saw half of the Gryffindor team staring at us, smirking and I couldn't have been more embarrassed. "I'm gonna go now," I told Fred and kissed him goodbye.

I stalked off to Remus' office and walked in, as usual, without knocking. When I entered, I saw Snape handing Remus something, and I knew exactly what it was. Wolfsbane.

"Detention, Black? Causing even more trouble in the castle?" He spoke slowly and glared at me.

"Nope, I'm just here to study with my godfather," I said with a smile.

"That's surprising," he muttered.

"Yeah, it's as surprising as the fact that you haven't washed your hair yet." I smirked and I saw Remus' eyes widen.

"I see that you haven't taken my advice literally. When will you learn to keep your mouth shut?" He snapped and I just smiled.

"I'll learn to keep it shut the day that you learn the meaning of soap, my small, Snapey friend." I say and he didn't retaliate, just left without another word.

"Athena, you really need to start to watch yourself. He is your professor." Remus said, smiling anyway. I shrugged.

"He gets on my nerves. Now help me." I said. He smiled and sat next to me.

"Subject?"

"Defence against the dark arts." I replied.

"You're great in that subject, why would you even-"

"Please," I sighed.

"Oh, fine." He gave in, causing me to smile.

Within twenty minutes, I had covered what I needed in DADA and we had moved on to transfiguration. I was explaining to Remus why I was studying so hard when a distraught Ron walked in.

"Athena?" He asked.

"Yes?" I asked, smiling at him.

"It's Fred," he said and my smile dropped. I stood up and in no time I was at his side.

"What happened?" I demanded.

"Bludger to the head... knocked him off his broom. He's okay, but he wants to see you..." He breathed out.

"I'll see you later, Remus!" I called out and let Ron drag me towards the hospital wing. "Are you sure he's alright?" I asked, exasperated. Ron nodded but kept pulling me behind him. A small, barely audible whimper escaped my lips as we walked into the hospital wing.

"He's in there. Wants to be alone with you or something," Ron pointed to a drawn curtain. I smiled and nodded, kissing him on the cheek as a thank you. He turned bright red and smiled.

I walked over and stepped inside, seeing my boyfriend laying on the bed with a bandage wrapped around his head. I covered my mouth with my hand and room a step closer to him.

"Fred, love..." I trailed off, running my fingers over his cheek gently. "I told you to have fun, not hurt yourself." I whispered, my voice cracking.

"Hey, I'm fine, Athena. Don't worry about me. Now lay with me before Madame Pomfrey comes back," he said, opening his arms. I hesitated but eventually climbed in next to him. He smiled and kissed the top of my head and I nuzzled my face in his neck.

"Don't scare me like that ever again." I said and kissed his jaw lightly.

"I'm sorry baby, and I'll try not to." He grins this most adorable grin I've ever seen in my life, and suddenly I don't care that were in the hospital wing anymore. I don't care anyone could walk in and see me laying with him. It didn't bother me that he was hurt, because honestly, it could've been much worse. Much, much worse. Yet he's here with me right now, perfectly fine other than a few scratches. Because I loved Fred more than anything and if anything happened to him I'm afraid I'd lose my sanity. And that's when I realized I needed him to know how much he meant to me.

"I love you, Freddie. And I'll tell you everyday until you realize I'm not joking. I'll tell you every single day because I want you to know just how much I love you. And I don't want to lose you." I whispered, stroking cheek gently.

"I love you too Athena, a lot more than you think." He whispered, lacing one of his hands with my free one. "But I have a serious question," he said.

"Yes?"

"How'd studying go?"

"Shut up and kiss me you twat," I laughed. And he did exactly that, and I couldn't have been any happier.
