Musical Autopsy

In this movella, I will strip a song down to its core and try to decipher its inner meaning, if it has one, and what is wrong with it. Song suggestions welcome. *Update - I only do songs that made one of the billboard charts at some point in time. Thanks!*

I first heard this song at camp, and it was kind of catchy the first time, but, as I have listened to it 20+ times, it has become and annoyance. Let's take a look at the lyrics it took 6 songwriters to produce:

When I need motivation
My one solution is my queen
 'Cause she stays strong
 Yeah, yeah
She is always in my corner
Right there when I want her

So you use your girlfriend to give you motivation? Let me repeat that one more time: your girlfriend is always in your corner when you need her. Nothing else needs to be said. I am not going to try to decipher what that means.

All these other girls are tempting

You don't admit that! If you love your girlfriend/possible motivation slave, than you shouldn't be tempted.

But I'm empty when you're gone
 And they say

[Pre-hook:]
 Do you need me?
 Do you think I'm pretty?
Do I make you feel like cheating?
And I'm like no, not really 'cause

[Hook:]
Oh, I think that I've found myself a cheerleader
She is always right there when I need her
Oh, I think that I've found myself a cheerleader
She is always right there when I need her

I would just like to point out that so far, we have rhymed corner and her, cheerleader and cheerleader, and her and her. What are these 6 songwriters doing?

[Verse 2:]
 She walks like a model

You care what she looks like on the outside?

 She grants my wishes
Like a genie in a bottle

Genies are magical slaves forced into bottles for thousands of years. Saying someone is your genie isn't really a compliment. Also, the rhyming pattern has changed since the last verse! It was ABCDEE and now it is ABACDEFGEF. I can't even.

 Yeah, yeah
'Cause I'm the wizard of love
And I got the magic wand
All these other girls are tempting
But I'm empty when you're gone
 And they say

[Pre-hook:]
 Do you need me?
 Do you think I'm pretty?
Do I make you feel like cheating?
And I'm like no, not really 'cause

[Hook:]
Oh, I think that I've found myself a cheerleader
She is always right there when I need her
Oh, I think that I've found myself a cheerleader
She is always right there when I need her

[Instrumental break]

Yes, by this point in the song I need an instrumental break.

[Bridge:]
She gives me love and affection

Oh, not only does she give motivation, grant wishes, but she is also affectionate. That is a good thing to mention.

 Baby, did I mention
You're the only girl for me
 No, I don't need a next one
 Mama loves you too
She thinks I made the right selection
Now all that's left to do
Is just for me to pop the question

You are going to marry her? Please say no. So, this whole time he was using cheerleader as a replacement word for soul mate or bride? I thought you said the other girls were tempting?

[Hook:]
Oh, I think that I've found myself a cheerleader
She is always right there when I need her
Oh, I think that I've found myself a cheerleader
She is always right there when I need her

Okay, the first thing I would like to point out is that this Omi dude? He can't sing. It is so auto tuned, and he doesn't go out of one octave. I would like to point out the most people can sing 1.5 octaves, so why is he getting paid millions of dollars?

I am still confused on what the heck these 6 people are doing. They are horrible songwriters! Do they realize how crappy and repetitive the song is?

This has been musical autopsy with Lavern.
