12. 'Cool'

Calum's POV

I opened my eyes to an unfamiliar place. I turned to my right and felt something warm beside me and I gasped in shock then realized it was Michael and all the events of last night came back to mind as I remembered I was in the cottage. I just lifted my head and rested it against the white headboard. I looked to my right out he window at the balcony and saw the sun had just risen and it shone brightly into our room warming it up. The clock said 8:16 AM and I was shocked I woke up this early. Of course Mike was still asleep, so I looked at the bed across from me to see if anyone else was awake, but they were all asleep. Since I couldn't fall back asleep, I decided to get up only cause I had to pee.

After that, I tried to creep back in bed but I heard someone shifting and take a deep morning breath. I looked over and saw Claudia had woken up now as well.

"Morning Claudia, did I wake you? Sorry."

"No, Cal. You didn't. I just gotta use the bathroom."

"Okay, want some breakfast?"

"Ya, sure."

"Okay. I'll wait for you at the door. Are Lucas or Ashton up?"

"Course not" she laughed.

I watched her carefully crawl out of bed as to not wake up anyone and I sat up and leaned against the entrance door frame as she walked into the bathroom. About a minute later she walked out and she met me at the door and we both walked out as she quietly shut the door behind her. We ran down the wooden steps and saw our mothers sitting in the living room chatting over coffee.

"Morning!"

"Good morning you two!" answered my mother, "want some breakfast?"

"Ya mum, that'd be great."

"Pancakes?"

"Ya!" Claudia and I said in unison. "Okay, we will be on the porch, mum call us when its ready?" she nodded.

Claudia and I sat on the porch swing and talked about school.

"I mean like, Cal, you know I like school. I just don't like the people in it. Some of them can be so mean for our age. They tease me for the way I dress and the type of hobbies I have and the music I like."

"I know. Me too. I hate school though, I mean the teachers suck, I barely learn a thing. That one time I went to Liz for math help, I understood it more from her in that one explanation than I did from the week of the teacher explaining it. And the kids are mean, more to the other guys than me though, only cause I like soccer."

"Ya, like you don't have to know how to kick a ball to be considered 'cool'. Although, I'd rather know how to play piano than know how to pirouette and be considered 'cool'. Cool is overrated anyways Cal, I'd rather be in the shadow, ya know?"

"Ya."

"Kids pancakes are ready!"

*half hour later*

"Oh wow I'm so full."

"Me too."

"Maybe just one more..."

"No Cal! We need to save some for the rest of the boys!"

"Ugh, fine."

"Don't be sad, you had five!" she laughed and I shrugged. I heard footsteps and saw the others had woken up, and they said good morning and sat for some pancakes.
