Ronald Potter And The Gamorrean From Coruscant: Ronald Potter Year 2

Ronald's second year at the Jedi Temple. He finally survived his first year, leaving him to think his second year would be a breeze. He couldn't be more wrong. Ronald feels like he's drifting away from his friends, and it only makes matters worse when Ronald discovers he's not the extraordinary pilot he thought he was. When the school bullies take Ronald under their wing, he decides they aren't so bad...or are they? This year, Ronald will have to survive another encounter with Darth Vadermort, alien poetry tests, menacing robots, cyberbullies, more lightsaber battles, and worst of all, his apparently traitorous crush, Annabeth.

5. The Danceoff

On the night of the dance, Ronald helped Bill, still appointed DJ, carry his equipment to the gym again. Once they reached their destination Bill thanked him and sat at the desk at the back of the spacious room.

"Do you want to hang out here for a few songs?" Bill offered.

"Sure," Ronald replied.

Bill nodded and turned to the crowd. "All right, everybody!" he shouted over his loudspeaker. "Let's dance!"

As Bill played the first song, which happened to be Jedi Rocks, Ronald looked around blankly. There's Annabeth! I wonder if she'll ask me to dance? He paused. I hope she's not mad at me about the whole dodgeball thing...or maybe she won't ask me while I'm hanging out back here...

Ronald decided to leave. "Thanks, Bill. I'll see you later."

Bill waved. "Have fun!"

Ronald started to wonder around the gym. Then he saw Annabeth. Oh, Annabeth's kind of dancing with Tegan right now...I'll just get a drink. Ronald walked over to the concession stand and got a cup of soda. I don't see her now...there she is...she looks busy...maybe she is mad at me? He gulped. I should probably not bug her while she's mad at me. I'll ask her when she's ready.

"Hey, Ron!" said Ammon as he passed Ammon and June.

"Hey, guys!" said Ronald. Now where'd she go?

Just then, Annabeth noticed him walk by. "Ron!"

Ron stopped short. "Oh, hey Annabeth!"

Before Annabeth could reply, Bill called, "And that's all for tonight! Thanks for dancing!"

Ronald was shocked. "So, well, have a good night?"

Annabeth frowned. "Oh...OK. You too."

"That was a pretty great dance, wasn't it, Ronald?" asked Bill as they left together. Ronald growled.

Well, after that Annabeth asked to move seats from Ronald in homeroom. Ronald was shocked, but could hope it was because Vernon was throwing spitballs at him but they were occasionally hitting Annabeth instead. Sometimes they hit Ammon, but unlike Annabeth he knew how to Force-deflect them.

The good news was that the Padawans' first air simulator flight was coming soon. This was something Ronald was actually confident about. After this, no one will look at me the same, because I'm going to beat all of their test scores by a billion. I'll show them!
