Ronald Potter And The Gamorrean From Coruscant: Ronald Potter Year 2

Ronald's second year at the Jedi Temple. He finally survived his first year, leaving him to think his second year would be a breeze. He couldn't be more wrong. Ronald feels like he's drifting away from his friends, and it only makes matters worse when Ronald discovers he's not the extraordinary pilot he thought he was. When the school bullies take Ronald under their wing, he decides they aren't so bad...or are they? This year, Ronald will have to survive another encounter with Darth Vadermort, alien poetry tests, menacing robots, cyberbullies, more lightsaber battles, and worst of all, his apparently traitorous crush, Annabeth.

10. Ronald Finds Annabeth

Just in time for the new semester, the Jedi Temple recieved new and improved starfighter pilot simulators. The realistic images, ladder to get inside, and loop-the-loops would hopefully give the Padawans a more realistic flying experience. In his first case flying the new ones, Ronald made it through with zero damage.

He climbed out hopefully and turned to face Mr. Maulpres.

"You made it through with zero damage," Maulpres said. "But at the end you made a huge mistake by blowing up the last asteroid."

"It was in the way!" Ronald protested.

"You could have gone around it, but you just had to show off," Mr. Maulpres replied. "Blowing it up created more obstacles. You were lucky none of those asteroid pieces hit you." He began writing on his clipboard. "I'm afraid that's a 'B.'"

"What?" Ronald replied. "With no damage?"

"B-," Maulpres said.

"This isn't fair!"

Ronald stormed over to the bleachers angrily.

Later, Ronald was making his way through the halls. After saying hi to Bill, he rounded the next bend.

Oh, there's Annabeth! But...she's talking to Ammon. What are they doing?

And then he saw them holding hands. What?! Ronald gulped inwardly, then turned tail. I can't let them see m-- "OOF!" At that note, he bumped into Gammy, the Gamorrean chef from Corsucant.

"GROWG?" Gammy roared angrily.

"Sorry, Gammy," Ronald said.

And then he heard Annabeth call him. "Ronald?"

Ronald dashed away.

The scene still eluded Ronald. Were his two best friends secretly in a relationship together?

Later, all the Padawans played soccer. After Eegan Reich (the goalie) failed to stop the ball Ronald had kicked through, the ball plowed into the goal, bounced off, and landed in front of the goal line.

"Ha!" said Draco, hi-fiving Ronald. "Great job!"

"No," said Ammon, and pointed to the ball. "It didn't pass the goal line."

"Yes it did," Ronald replied. "You're lying."

"No! I was standing right here!" Ammon shouted.

"Wait, let me check," said Draco. "Instant replay... yep, goal."

"What?" Ammon replied.

"Goal!" Draco repeated.

"How do you know?"

"I have a photographic memory."

"No goal!"

"You didn't see!" Ronald shouted.

"We win!" said Annabeth.

Ammon grumbled. "Maybe we just shouldn't keep score."

"Sounds like someone who loses a lot," Ronald countered.

Severus smiled. "Ha! Nice one, Ron!" he said.

Vernon pointed at Ammon. "Ha! Loser."

Later, Principal Antilles gave them all a readout of their new assignment. It said:

Students will work in groups of five to build their own fully operational droids. You will be expected to work together, sharing responsibility equally. Students in each group will all receive the same grade.

- Droids are not required to communicate, but extra credit will be given to droids with multiple functions.

- Droids must have at least one primary specialized function (i.e. sweeping and vacuuming floors).

- NO WEAPONS. Any droid equipped with lasers will result in a failing grade.

- Droids will be judged on these five areas: function, design, reliability, originality, and the vague, undefinable sense of whether the droid has "it."
