Ronald Potter And The Gamorrean From Coruscant: Ronald Potter Year 2

Ronald's second year at the Jedi Temple. He finally survived his first year, leaving him to think his second year would be a breeze. He couldn't be more wrong. Ronald feels like he's drifting away from his friends, and it only makes matters worse when Ronald discovers he's not the extraordinary pilot he thought he was. When the school bullies take Ronald under their wing, he decides they aren't so bad...or are they? This year, Ronald will have to survive another encounter with Darth Vadermort, alien poetry tests, menacing robots, cyberbullies, more lightsaber battles, and worst of all, his apparently traitorous crush, Annabeth.

2. Back To School

The suns peaked over the mountains when Ronald woke up. The previous day, he had learned from a flier that a Gamorrean named Gammy was the chef for the Jedi Temple now, and that the class was going to care for a class pet called a voorpak. Ronald went down to his mom's room and burst inside. "Mom, wake up! It's time to take me to the airport!"

"Hm? Are you sure?" Mrs. Potter yawned. "What time is it?"

Before long, the entire Potter family minus Mr. Potter was in the landspeeder. Mrs. Potter drove it to the spaceport. Although Ronald was relatively quiet last time, he didn't stop talking on the way there.

"This is so exciting! I wonder if we'll start flying on the first day? Ammon and I are totally going to hang out every day, isn't that cool? I bet Annabeth is there already. We have a bunch of classes together! I can't wait!"

Finally, they reached the spaceport, and Ronald climbed aboard the bus. To his surprise, only teens he didn't recognize were aboard this time. The bus took off. But even as Coruscant was still in view, Ronald realized one thing was certain: Oh, no! I think I forgot to pack underwear!

Ronald couldn't believe how boring the Jedi Temple was. Nobody else was there. It turned out Ronald had arrived a few days early, because he had been excited and didn't look at his calendar right. Fortunately, Master Yoda had been around, getting ready for class. At least that's what Ronald thought. Yoda started Ronald on some exercises using the Force, so he was getting back into the swing of things. I'm so ready for school to finally begin!

A few days later, Ronald went outside to wait at the docking bay. RW-12 came to wait with him. Finally, the bus carrying the middle schoolers arrived.

Finally! Ronald thought as the bus' ramp let down. Ammon Kendels was the first out. "Ammon!"

"Hey, Ronald!" said Ammon. "When did you get here?"

Ronald sighed. "Don't ask!"

Just then, Eegan Reich came out. "Hey, guys!"

"Hey!" said Ronald. He turned to leave...and then someone crashed into him.

"Oh, sorry, Ron!" It was Annabeth Skywalker.

"That's OK," said Ronald.

Annabeth wrapped her arms around him, and Ronald returned the hug. "I'm going to put my bags away," she said. "It's so good to see you!" She disengaged and headed inside. "See you later!"

"See ya around!" Ronald replied, waving. For a moment, he felt frozen in place as his hand stayed in the air.

And then a familiar voice said, "Look! Ron has the same stupid face he had last year!"

Ronald lowered his hand as he turned around. "Oh. Hey, Vernon. Severus. Pansy."

"I think you defeating Darth Vadermort last year was a fluke, Ron," Vernon Dudley continued.

Ronald folded his arms. "Worried that I'll get better grades than you this year, Vernon?"

"I hope you've been practicing..." said Vernon, and Force-lifted all the suitcases surrounding them. "...if you want to keep up with me this year!" He lowered them and walked away. As he walked, he turned to Pansy Lestrange. "Did you see that? He looked scared!"

Ronald frowned as he watched them go.

"So Vernon still really, really doesn't like you," Ammon commented.

"Yeah, I almost forgot about those guys," said Ronald. "I'm not worried! Watch!" He extended his hand, and all four of their suitcases shot into the air.

"Ha! Nice, Ron!" said Ammon.

"The Force is strong with me this semester," Ronald replied confidently.

That night, Ronald, Ammon, Bill Reggan, and Eegan sat around Eegan's dorm. They began a conversation that lasted for quite a while.

"...and my dad took us all the way through the Corellian Run!" said Ammon.

"Isn't that dangerous?" asked Bill.

"Only a little," said Ronald. "Bad guys know not to mess with patrols."

"...and after that, we went to the other side, and then I saw..."

"How about..."

"I think that we..."

"Oh, that reminds me of when..."

"About the other..."

"And then his brother said that..."

"Ha ha!"

"Did you..."

The chat lasted long into the night. Finally, Ammon checked his watch. "We should go to's getting early!"

Ronald yawned.

"Early?" Eegan replied. "Don't you mean it's getting late?"

"From a certain point of view," said Ammon. "It's 2 in the morning!"

I'm starving, Ronald thought as he stood in the lunch line for the first time this year. I wonder what's for lunch today.

Just then, he arrived to see a hulking Gamorrean. "MRKAFA GRORG?" it roared.

"Yespleasethankyou!" Ronald stammered quickly. Gammy overturned his ladle, dropping a pile of slimy muck on Ronald's plate. Shivering, Ronald left to sit with Ammon.

"The new chef is kinda scary, huh?" asked Ronald nervously.

Yeah, no kidding! "So is his food," Ammon replied.

Ronald frowned as he looked down at the muck that was his lunch. "OK...I don't care, I'm so hungry!" He began to stuff the mixture of slime, mud, bones, and dried tails into his mouth.

"Gross!" said Ammon. Ronald swallowed hard and gulped. "Ronald, are you OK?"

Ronald groaned. "I think it's still alive...I can feel it moving in my stomach!"
