Are y'all ready for a full blown rant? I hope so. I am just going to go ahead and admit that I was watching Sponge Bob. I was bored. Going back to the rant, I saw a bunch of commercials for Bratz and Matchbox Cars, and there is nothing wrong with that. There is nothing wrong with that except for the fact that the only people playing witht he Bratz dolls were girls, and the only people playing with matchbox cars were boys.

Let's start out with a little bit of backstory on my end. In case you haven't figured this out or you don't know me, I am a girl. I am a girl who never owned a Barbie doll. I always asked for the boy's toy at the fast food resturants, and I remember one time the lady gave me a girl's toy, and when I asked her why, she told me that I wasn't a boy, so I couldn't have the little monster truck. That was who I was as I little girl. I was a "Tom Boy"

Yeah, I guess you could call me a Tom Boy, but I was a Tom Boy who liked to put bows in her hair. I just didn't get it. That part of me still exists. I don't know why certain thing are for boys and certain things are for boys.

Going to the other side, I don't get why boys can't care about the way that they look or not do sports. As a society, there is a term that is not too derogatory for girls that like traditionally dude stuff, but there isn't something like that for guys. They are more likely to be made fun of for it, and they are less likely to show and do what they want to.

I think advertising plays a role in all of this. If they had even just one boy or one girl in toys traditionally meant for the opposite sex, I think it would make a difference.

Back to my current life, my grandparents are coming to my house today. I don't really have any negative or positive feelings towards this, I just wish that I didn't have to take a shower and stop writing on their behalf. Whatever, I guess it will be nice to talk to them. They are coming over pretty soon, so I should probably get ready.

One last thing: the science fiction deadline is really freaking me out. I haven't really gotten to the conflict in my story yet, and I have two days left to write. It just kind of stresses me out.

Hopefully, I will be able to write another entry before I go to bed, and I hope this entry will boost this movella up to the fifty minute mark. I am crossing my fingers!
