16. Airborne Skirmish

The battle seemingly over, Superquack signaled the Quack-mobile. Moments later, the futuristic vehicle came roaring around the corner and up to its owner. Superquack climbed inside--to see Morgan already in the passenger seat. She had speed-glitched into the vehicle on its way to the part of town the battle had occurred. "What the--What are you doing here?"

Morgan chuckled nervously. "I only wanted to spend a few last minutes with you."

Superquack sighed loudly. "OK. You can ride." What would be the point of arguing this? After all, Morgan isn't hurting anything.

Morgan grinned.

The Quack-mobile drove to the other side of Quackville and pulled up to Superquack's house. But during their big adventure, Superquack had one big question on his mind.

Superquack climbed out and turned to Morgan. "Morgan! Will you...will you..." He stuttered as he fumbled with a wedding ring hidden in his pocket.

"What?" Morgan asked, truly unsure of Superquack's question.

"I just...huh?" Superquack looked above. The same hover jet that had brought Mr. Baby Tutu to Quackville now hovered above the house. Mr. Baby Tutu had followed them there.

A hatch opened, and Mr. Baby Tutu peered down at the Supers. He held a handheld microphone to his mouth as he called, "Supers of goodness! You have destroyed my beloved Dinobot. Now I am here to destroy you!"

Morgan whispered to Superquack, and Superquack nodded eagerly. With a wave of her hand, Morgan made an exact copy of the Quack-mobile. With all his Super Strength, Superquack hurled the copy up toward Mr. Baby Tutu's jet. It slammed into Mr. Baby Tutu, lifting him into space. Once there, his weakened form suffocated. He was dead.

But their troubles still weren't over. Mr. Tutusymbol had stowed away, and fired the ship's lasers at Superquack. The explosion knocked him to the ground. Then Mr. Baby Tutu's son jumped off the jet and glided down to Superquack's porch. He raised his sword, ready to kill Superquack...and then slumped backward against the house.

"Mr. Tutusymbol," said Superquack. "Why are you crying?"

"It's a trick!" said Morgan.

Superquack shook his head and walked over to Mr. Tutusymbol. Then he put his arm around the tall boy. "What's troubling you?"

"Both my parents...are dead," said Mr. Tutusymbol between sobs. "My mom was always so nice. But then Dad saw her as an enemy...and murdered her!" Just the thought of it made him cry harder.

"No--no, don't cry," said Superquack.

Mr. Tutusymbol sniffed. "Now my dad is gone too. With my entire family gone, I don't know what I'll do."

Superquack scratched his chin, realizing why Mr. Tutusymbol did the things he did. Clearly his murderous father had forced him to work for him. "You can live with me!" he said.

"Really?" asked Mr. Tutusymbol.

"Really," said Superquack.

"Excuse me, Superquack," said Morgan, tapping his shoulder. "What were you going to ask me?"

"Hmm...I'll invite you to dinner and tell you then," Superquack replied. "Meet me at Sushi Ya tomorrow."
