In The Box

Hope you enjoy this entry for the poetry competition.

1. In The Box

A piece of paper with a single name written on it.

A pink glittery bouncy ball with bite marks around the middle.

The smell of pine, straight from a Colorado forest that has trees

perched in tiers on the sides of mountains, like a choir.

A pinto bean, like the ones you use to mark your spots

on a Fiesta-themed game board of BINGO.

A dust bunny.

A rusted, baby-sized spoon, with intricate metal designs carved into the end.

A polaroid of something vaguely square that was never fully developed.

A link of a chain, reminding you of what you once had.

A maple leaf, from your childhood backyard tree, half orange.

The thought of someone else.
