George is diagnosed with Asperger syndrome, a type of Autism. He has been going to a boy's boarding school since he was seven. The other boys bully him, and he can't control his emotions properly.

One day he meets the strange and mysterious Sam, the only boy he's really ever known who doesn't tease him or try to make him angry. So what will happen when George starts to fall for this wonderful and distant boy?

8. George

Sam’s been really distant recently, he seems to be always lost in thought. Tonight, I was really tired so I very nearly fell asleep on his shoulder (which happens often) but he seemed to not really notice me. I was talking a bit, but he wasn’t answering, then suddenly, he said that he needed to go and get some more fire wood and he pushed me off. I fell down, and now I’m sitting back up I notice that there’s still lots of wood left. I’m really confused. First we laugh and play, then I fall in love with him and we fall asleep looking at the stars, then he pushes me away. Is this normal boy behaviour? Or is my Aspergers just making a big deal out of nothing? Maybe he doesn’t like me the way I like him? We are both boys after all. What shall I do? Wait for it to blow over or ask? Am I too scared? Will he react badly? How do you tell a boy that you like them?

I ask myself all these questions, but instead of answers, I get more questions. It’s like a continuous game that get more complicated with each turn. Have I worn out my welcome? Should I stop coming at night? Ooh, what a surprise, more questions.
