“You silly cow said Hannah; you nearly missed out there.

“Sorry, I was miles away”

“So it seems, is there something on your mind?

“No; it will keep don’t worry.”

Again the committee man came over and put the money on the table then announced the last game.

“Lizzy counted the money then halved the money and gave it to Hannah.”

“No I cannot take it when I didn’t share mine with you.”

“Another drink then?

“Go on then, I will have a lager and black currant.”

“Can you mark my book for me then whilst I’m at the bar?

“Yes of course.”

“Eyes down your first number on the green ticket; said the caller.

Liz squeezed past the tables and men who were standing at the bar. She held up a ten pound note to get the attention of the barmaid who saw her and came over.

“What can I get you love?

“All the two’s, twenty two.”

“Half of lager and blackcurrant and a bottle of pale ale please.”

After Liz had got her change she brought the drinks over and put them down on the table.

“Five and three; Fifty three.”

Hannah passed her ticket over and they both continued with the game.

This time however they weren’t lucky and all too soon the bingo was over.

The compare got up then announce that the first act of the evening was George Sturrock and the String Bender’s.

George played a mean guitar and they played a lot of covers by the shadows. They went down well with the audience who gave them a good round of applause as they left the stage?

Then there was a singer called “Billy Fortune” who sang a few Tom Jones and Engle Bert Humperdinck numbers.

Hannah and Liz got up then placed their handbags on the floor in front of them then danced away to the song” It’s not unusual.”

“Oh what I would give for a night with Tom Jones said Hannah.”

“The women that he’s had he can take his pick. “ Would you throw your knickers on stage?

“Knicker’s; I would run through the street naked for a night with Tom.”

“Since Alan left me two years ago I’ve been so lonely Liz.”

“I knew he had a roving eye but never dreamed he would leave me for another woman.

She was ten years younger than me as well.

“Don’t worry about it Hannah it won’t last; he will be back with his tail between his legs.

“I wouldn’t have him back now Liz; not after that.”
