A Universe Trapped in a Labyrinth

This is my boring and interesting and teenager life spanning from age 15 to 18 (and hopefully beyond).
Within you'll find many re-inventions of myself, boy trouble, school trouble and life trouble. (Plus interesting bits I thought I would include as well).
Do you dare to enter the maze?

63. Nevers

1st August 2015

We all have a list of Nevers – and to clarify, that is a list of things that we must never do. If we’re lucky, we get to hold on to most of them. But life sometimes forces us to make some tough decisions. Our Nevers change over time. When we are young they will be something like; ‘I will never eat Brussel sprouts’ or ‘I will never talk to them again’. When we are older they transition into ‘I will never get myself in a relationship that doesn’t appreciate me’ or ‘I will never let myself be dragged down…’ Sometimes we can’t keep our Nevers, no matter how hard we try. Growing up it’s quite easy to say ‘I will never kill anyone,’ and then we find our country going to war and you find yourself on a battlefield killing people. We have to hang on to as many of our Nevers as we can, for as long as we can and only sacrifice them when it serves the greater good.

One of my Nevers is this;

Never become someone I myself is not proud of.

I always want to strive to do my best but also do things that are worthy of pride and respect. To think that someday I might someday look into the mirror and not know who I am or what I am doing with my life terrifies me. I want to be proud of myself even if at that time my actions don’t leave a mark on anybody else.
