Being busy and being productive are two different things.

I haven’t had time to write a diary in a while, but I’m back. In this half an hour I have to spare I shall tell you what’s been going on. I mean since Monday a lot has happened, mainly repetitive stuff, but still a lot.

All throughout Tuesday I was working on The Big Hoot project for college as it was due in on Wednesday. I managed to come up with three owl designs containing the de-collage process, typography and even a little bit of scanning. All of this then went into a little PDF document which I was then going to have to present in front of the tutors, my group and the other group. I don’t mind talking in front of large amounts of people. Of course I get nervous, but it gives me a buzz and once I get started everything becomes okay. Plus, I think it helped that I knew most of the people.

However, there was a twist. Coming in on Wednesday I found out that I wasn’t going to be pitching my own owl ideas, but in fact someone else’s. We were all put into pairs and had ten minutes to talk about each other’s ideas and then it was pitching time. I worked with a guy from the other class, his name was Al. I think I was lucky to get paired up with Al; he is a really nice guy and is awesome at design. Not to mention that he is really inspiring, so pitching his work in front of class wasn’t so bad.

Once the pitching was done, my half term started! No extra projects were assigned to do over the break and I was thankful. My initial thought was that I was going to get a lot of sleep, but I was so wrong. Even though I had no work from college, mum is putting the pressure on me for my driving and theory. Plus, everyone is swapping rooms upstairs and the downstairs front room is getting done. All this meant that I was not having any lazy days, but instead work out days where I would be moving furniture and panting walls.

Literally all of Wednesday afternoon and Thursday was spend setting out the front room and shredding old documents that were found in the rooms upstairs. Can I just say that I love this little electronic paper shredder? I know this is really weird, but I like the feel of it and the sound that it makes and the little paper fibres that float in the air. I just love shredding paper with that thing; I don’t think it has ever been that fun. Plus all the paper that gets shredded can be used as bedding for the guinea pigs cage. Its super warm and they will be really comfy.

Anyway, we also went shopping yesterday to buy wall paints. Vivian chose a light pink colour, Raven chose a light sage colour and I chose a colour called stormy clouds which is a medium grey. My idea is to paint the wall white first and then I am going to make designs out of paper stick them on and then paint the wall with the grey and peel off the paper. I love grey, I think it’s one of the colours that most designers like because it’s so neutral and is used for most things when considered designing. At first I was going to choose a teal colour, but decided against it. Besides I wanted a colour that many other colours can go with.

We haven’t started painting yet and its Friday. There are still many things upstairs that need moving, including the wardrobes, shelves, sofas and many boxes. My sisters have had their last day of school today and officially their half term starts. I don’t know how much we are going to get done with them running around the house, but I do hope it gets done before the end of this week. I do still want time to relax and I really want to get writing for this fan fiction competition on movellas.

I have these two really great ideas for two different fanfictions, but I haven’t had any time to sit down, plan it out and just write. There is always something more important to do and by the time I’ve done it, I’m really tired and all I want to do is sleep. I mean last night I fell asleep hallway through setting my alarm and in the morning the screen of my phone was still on my face. I’m so tired and deprived on sleep that I’m getting theses really dark circles underneath my eyes. It may be due to the fact that I don’t drink enough water, but I know that I'm not getting enough sleep. There are simply not many hours in the day for me to do what I have to do.

One thing that is going well though is my driving. Today I had my last lesson with my current instructor. It was a two hour lesson and I drove our really far on the main roads, did a three point turn, went on the roundabout, did countless left and right turns. I’m getting better at the crossroads and going over the speed humps. Even though I don’t like driving that much slow, I have learnt to deal with it. The next lesson I will have will be with another instructor and a new company, let see how that turns out. I also did my theory practise today. It’s not as hard as I thought it would be and I know I can ace the real thing if I just do a little more reading on the Highway Code. But then again, I need time for that too.

Anyway, I'm sorry if this was a short entry. I’ve just finished serving up some dinner which was spiced potatoes and chapatti. All I need to do now is wash the dishes, continue setting the rooms and then I'm going to head off to bed.

The best way to see what tomorrow brings is to sleep through the night.
