This is a very, very bad idea

Don't you just love it when you can't sleep? And then remember that you have a diary that you can write in to tell everyone that?

Urgh.

It's all dark and everyone's asleep. Though, Pipsqueak is constantly reminding me to “turn off the light and go away” because he “wants to sleep”.

He's adorable.

My day's been a bore. I watched a lot of My Little Pony today. A lot. Some of the songs are still bouncing around in my head. “We've got hearts as strong as horses...” and so on.

And I remember this explicitly because it's hilarious: “I just gave them frostbite over their sunburn.”

Ahahaha. I think that was in the final episode of the first season.

I love My Little Pony.

I always hated dolls as a kid, but I loved collecting little horse and pony figurines. I must have had at least thirty or forty of them - and I would brush their manes, plait their tails, make them little rag dresses. I also used to collect those little circular Pokémon disks that came in packets of Cheetos. I had so many of those. I remember I used to ask my grandfather to take me out to the corner shop every day after school, just to get Cheetos and a sh*tload of other sweets and snacks. Though, ironically, I've never needed a filling - whereas my brother has an innumerable amount.

Those were the good old days... and then we had to leave my grandma's house.

Everybody was getting PS2 and Xbox consoles, and I remember we were still rocking the Nintendo 64 in our new house. I miss that old thing. But racing games are like a b*tchslap in the face - can't stand them.

Don't really know what to write about - it's just dark, the wi-fi is off and I'm bored.

Sigh.

I started watching the Witcher. I'm enjoying it so far, but... Sometimes when I watch video game playthroughs, I just remember how much I miss actually playing them for myself. I'd probably suck so hard at it if I started playing again. And playing in front of a PC is not the same as playing with a console controller. There's a PS4 sitting in my uncle's house going untouched most days and I don't even know when I'm going to set foot in that house again.

We talk over IM a lot and we're both, like, video game nerds. I've been his Player 2 since I was a little kid.

And he'll be like “Oh, there's this game coming out next month.”

And I'd be like, “Yeah, I know. Did you pre-order it?”

And he'll be like, “I'm going to trade in another game to get it. Do you want me to hold onto it until you get to play?”

And I don't know how to respond.

Usually, I'll be like “Nah, God knows when I'll see you guys.”

But in my heart of hearts I'll be like “IS THAT EVEN A QUESTION, GODDAMMIT?! YOU HOLD ONTO THAT PIECE OF GOLD IF IT'S THE LAST THING YOU DO!”

(Although, he really doesn't like fantasy games. I really wanted him to get Skyrim this one time, but he was like “Nah... Nah, that's too weird.”)

I miss the old days where I didn't have to get involved in all this bullsh*t - where I could have all the ponies and Pokémon and Cheetos and chocolate and video games I wanted. I hate being an adult.

I'd trade in the right to vote and the right to get drunk on a side-walk for all of that any day.
