Counsellor: Hey there.

User: hi

Counsellor: I'm Amy, what's your name?

User: Lauren

Counsellor: That's a lovely name. How old are you, Lauren?

User: 15.

Counsellor: And what would you like to talk about today?

User:

User:

User:

User:

User:

Counsellor: It's okay. Take your time. I'm ready when you are.

User:

User:

User: I hate my life.

Counsellor: What makes you say that?

User: Everyone hates me.

Counsellor: Everyone?

User: Everyone at school.

Counsellor: And why do they hate you?

User:

User:

User: I don't know.

Counsellor: Have you ever spoken to anyone about how you're feeling?

User: Not till today

Counsellor: How does it make you feel?

User: Worthless. Like I'm some piece of stupid crap they found lying on the ground. And that's how I feel most of the time. I know there are people from my school who bullied me online under anonymous identities a few years ago. They haven't admitted to it though. It still hurts to this day; their words will always haunt me. I hate myself so much. Nobody cares about me.

Counsellor: It sounds like you're going through a really difficult time. You've done the right thing to contact us, and you're very brave for doing so.

User:

Counsellor: How are things at home?

User: Fine, most of the time . . . It's just school that's the problem, really.

Counsellor: And why is school the biggest problem?

User: because every single day I'm surround by groups of girls who all get along with each other, and they talk and gossip and laugh and are always there for each other and they exclude because I'm the outcast

Counsellor: Is there anyone in your class you get along with?

User: not really, some just feel sorry for me I guess

User: they wouldn't even care if I died.

Counsellor: That's a very strong statement. What makes you say that?

User: most people just ignore me when I pass them at school, and they know and they can see that I'm hurt but they don't care; nobody does.

Counsellor: I'm sure there are people who would care.

User: really? I doubt it. If I overdosed today, nobody will shed so much as a tear.

User: maybe I'm better off dead.

Counsellor:

Counsellor: Has this thought only just entered your mind?

User:

User:

User: no.

Counsellor: How long have you been having these thoughts?

User: I considered it a few months ago, but I never really acted on it.

Counsellor: And do you think you're thinking about it in the same way you did a few months ago?

User: no.

Counsellor: In what way is it different?

User: I'm more serious about it now.

Counsellor: Would you act on these feelings?

User:

User:

User:

Counsellor: I'm a little worried about you.

User: no-one ever has been

Counsellor: On a scale of one to ten, ten being the strongest, how suicidal would you rate yourself at the moment?

User: 8.

Counsellor: Do you know about our confidentiality promise?

User: 8 doesn't mean i'll commit suicide though

Counsellor: But it's a high number. A very high number.

User: I can't help how I feel

Counsellor: You understand we have a confidentiality promise we have to keep to, don't you Lauren? We're doing it for you, because we believe it's what's best for you.

User:

User: I'll just kill myself before anyone gets here then

User: It'll be easy; I have the pills on my desk anyway.

User: You'll be too late

User: YOU CAN'T STOP ME

Counsellor: Lauren, please calm down. We're here for you. Take a deep breath.

User: It'll be one of my last

Counsellor: Lauren, I'm really concerned. We've decided it's best to send you help. I'm going to discuss with you a few options-

User: NO

User: You can't do this to me

Counsellor: We're extremely concerned about your safety.

User: why? you hardly even know me! no-one will care when I'm dead!

Counsellor: We care. You matter to us.

Counsellor: We have two options. The first is to contact the-

User: please don't

User: please

User: YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME

User: I'M BEGGING YOU

User: PLEASE

User: I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO FIND OUT-
