A School Girl Crush

Mia Knight is just starting high school and is moving from a small town to a town with a high school bigger than her entire old town. She doesn't even expect to find her way around school, so it comes as a shock when she finds love.

1. The First Day

It was my first day at my new school, and I wasn't the only new kid at least. Over the summer, quite a few kids from my old town got moved to this school in Ankeny. My new school was called Centennial High School. As far as first days go it was pretty normal. Except for one thing; for the first half hour of school was spent with our advisory (like homeroom but at the end of the day) teacher, Mr. Mackay, who went over school rules and new things that we didn't have in junior high that we now had in high school. It made no sense to me why they would do. I mean, is there really that much of a difference from junior high to high school? There was one girl in my home room who was really nice to me. Her name was Keaton and she was in most of my classes. The one thing that struck me as odd was that she was popular but was genuinely nice. I had always heard that popular girls were mean. At my old school we really didn't have any popular girls.

"Hi," Keaton said at the beginning of the orientation,"I'm Keaton. You must be new here. Do you want me to show you around?"

"Sure," I replied, "I'm Mia. Do you know where any of these classes are?"

"Wait a second, I think I'm in most of your classes, so I can be your unofficial guide for the day." She said with a smile. I returned her smile and thanked her. It only took me a few days to memorize my schedule and learn my way around the school, so I didn't need Keaton as my guide anymore.

School was pretty easy. Math was simple, Social Studies was boring, so was Science, and Literacy came with a mean and strict teacher. I figured my new school was even more boring than my old school, that was until I met Cameron.
