79. Chapter 79 : She's Priceless

Calum's POV

I woke up and looked over to her. She was tracing the veins in my arms. I kissed her forehead.

"Good morning beautiful," I said.

"Morning Cal."

My phone vibrated on the nightstand. I rolled over and grabbed it before checking the caller ID. 'Luke' I answered.

"Luke," I said.

"Hey Cal, we got the packages. Barely picked them up and don't want to open them because they are wrapped so nicely," He said.

I stood up from the bed and walked out into the hallway, "She can't be here while I do this, you know that right?"

"Yes, which is why I'm taking her out for brunch and I could bring her back when you're done with whatever else you need to do ," Luke added.

"Thanks man," I said.

"Anytime," He hung up and sent him the address.

I walked back into the room. Helen was sitting up, she held the duvet up so that it was covering her exposed chest. "What'd Luke say?"

"He just wanted to ask me something," I replied.

"Oh," She got off the bed, "Okay. I should get dressed." She looked down. I saw pain in her eyes as she began walking towards the closet.

"Hey," I grabbed her arm and turned her towards me. "Everything okay?" She nodded but refused to look me in the eyes.

"Everything is fine," She said. I let her go and watched her go into the closet and close the doors behind her.

Helen's POV

Calum wasn't that slick. I heard his conversation with Luke. He said that I couldn't be here when he does whatever he was going to do. My mind jumped to conclusions but I shook my head.

He would never do that to me. We just reunited. He wouldn't go out and cheat on me. Right?

I quickly got dressed and grabbed my phone, typing in Adin's number. I heard Calum singing in the shower. I practically sprinted down the stairs.

"So, how'd everything go? You haven't called in two days so I suppose everything went really good," Adin said.

"Everything was perfect," I replied.

"Why do I sense that there is a 'but' at the end of that sentence."

"Calum just had a phone call with Luke and he told him that he didn't want me in the house while he was going to do something. Now I don't know what the something is and I don't want to jump to conclusions," I rambled.

"Helen, trust me when I say this. Calum would never ever do that to you, okay?"

"I know, but still."

"If it makes you feel any better I'll go by the house when you're gone. Since you know, Calum said you wouldn't be there. Luke will probably take you out or something along the lines of that."

"Thank you Adin," I said. "But how's the shop holding up? Everything good?"

"Yea! Aero and Matty are over there right now and they make excellent cashiers."

I laughed, "I'll probably go there later on, just to say hi, haven't seen them in a while."

"Aye, don't forget about the gig, got it?"

"Yes, I know. The band and the gig stays between us, it's top secret and none of the boys know or will find out about it, understood?"

"Crystal clear."

I hung up and walked back up the stairs and into the bathroom. I almost couldn't see Calum due to all the steam. I began to wash my face and brush my teeth. The water soon turned off and Calum opened the glass door. The steam poured out of the shower. He grabbed a towel and began to dry off his hair before wrapping it around his waist.

He saw me walked towards me. His arms wrapped around my waist tightly, "You good?"

I turned to him and smiled, "Yea, sorry about that by the way. I just remembered something."

"You know you can tell me anything, right?" Worry was written on his face.

I placed my hand on his cheek, "I know Calum. Now finish drying yourself off because you're still dripping wet and you're getting my clothes wet."

He chuckled and pecked my lips, "I'm sorry, love." He released me from his arms and grabbed another towel. The doorbell rang.

"I'll get it, obviously." I said. "Don't think you'll want to open the door to someone like that," I motioned to him.

He shrugged, "You're probably right."

I walked down the stairs and went to the door before opening it. Luke stood there, he was looking at the plants in the yard.

"This place is huge!" He exclaimed

"That's what Calum said," I laughed.

He pulled me into a hug.

"We are going for brunch," he said.

"I have food here," I stated.

"Aw that's cute, you think I'm asking. No, we're going to brunch, whether you like it or not."

"What about Calum?"

"You want to bring Calum to a brunch with us? This is suppose to be a sibling thins. C'mon Helen, we haven't had an actual day out since I left. Just us two, like old times."

I smiled, "Fine, let me tell Calum I'm leaving."

I quickly ran up the stairs and found Calum in his jeans. He pulled a shirt on and looked at me, "What's up?"

"I'm going to brunch with Luke," I said.

"Cool, what restaurant are we going to?" He asked.

I stopped, "Actually, this is a brother-sister thing. So just me and Luke." I placed my hand on his abdominal

"Oh, no that's fine. I'll probably hang out with the guys," He smiled.

"See it all works out for us," I noted.

I walked out of the room, Calum following. We walked downstairs to where Luke was standing. Gawking at the view.

"This is incredible!" He exclaimed. "Right by the beach." He turned and saw Calum. "Hi Cal."

"Hey," was all Calum said.

"Ready?" Luke asked.

"Yea," I replied. I saw a silent conversation pass between them but didn't question it and kept it to myself. "Bye Calum."

He grabbed me and pulled me into a kiss, "I love you."

"I love you too," I said. He let me go and I followed Luke outside before closing the door.

"Thanks for the house by the way, it's really nice," He said.

"I'm glad," I smiled. "Do the others like it?"

"Yea! Mikey's been in the kitchen since we arrived. You stocked up the fridge really well."

I laughed and we got in the car Luke was driving.

Calum's POV

As soon as they left, I called Ashton. We agreed that I'd drive over to the house to pick them up. I got in my car and typed the address in my phone's GPS before driving off.

Traffic was insane and after nearly an hour of being stuck in it, I finally got to the house Ashton and Michael were at. It was a big house with a really nice view. Maybe even better than ours. I got out and walked to the front door.

It took them a while to get to the door before they opened it. I walked inside

"How was it?" Michael asked.

"How was what?" I said confused.

"Well you haven't seen her in six months, something tells me you two weren't just spooning," He added.

I scoffed, "That's none of your business."

Michael rolled his eyes but smiled. Ashton brought me three small boxes. "These are Helen's and this one is yours," Ashton explained to me which one contained my tuxedo since I personally didn't own one. "What else is there left?"

"I still have to buy her roses, no matter how cliche it is and that Victoria's Secret gift card if we fail at the shopping in the store," I said.

"So, we're going to have to go in there?" Michael asked.

"It won't be that bad Mike," Ashton said.

"Let's go, time is running out and I want to get this over with."

"But don't you need to know her bra size in order to buy her bras?" Michael asked.

"While she was downstairs I managed to get a peek of one of her bras, so yes, I have the size," I tapped my head with my index finger. "See, intelligence ."

"It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out," Ashton said.

"Lets just go," I added and carried the boxes outside and put them in the trunk of my car.

We had finished the shopping at Victoria's Secret and were currently at the check out. We got various stares and had a few ladies that worked at the store help us get everything I needed. It was a successful trip and I watched as the cashier was putting everything in a bag with pink paper. When she was done it looked like a perfect gift bag.

"Special lady?" The woman asked.

I smiled and nodded.

"Girlfriend, fiancee or wife?"

"Girlfriend," I replied.

She nodded as I gave her the money, "Every girl's dream. You're doing it right." She gave me the change and handed me the bags

"Thank you," I said.

We left the store and went to buy the roses. An hour later I texted Luke and told him to take Helen back to the house. I dropped Michael and Ashton off.

"Good luck, man," Ashton said.

"Are you going to give her the ring?" Michael asked.

I nodded.

"You think she'll accept it?" He continued.

"I hope," I reply.

"Don't make him nervous, you'll do great Cal and she'll love it. Trust me," Ashton encouraged. I smiled and drove off towards the beach house.

When I arrived, Helen was not home yet. I quickly hid the bags and placed the box neatly on the bed. I had to admit, I was nervous. I was about to ask her out on a date for the first time since we got back together. It's been a while.

I heard the door open downstairs.

"Calum?" She called.

I grabbed the roses and quickly walked down the stairs. She was in the kitchen when she turned around. Her eyes widened at the sight of me holding a bouquet of roses.

Helen's POV

Lunch with Luke was fun. I showed him the shop and we had great food. It was good to just talk to him about what was going on in our lives at the moment. I missed Luke.

Adin told me that Calum wasn't home most of the time. I quickly forgot all about that when I got to the house. I thanked Luke and said my good bye. I walked towards the door and unlocked it before stepping inside. It looked to be alone. I called out for Calum. Soon I heard someone running down the stairs. I turned and saw Calum holding a bouquet of roses.

"Calum, what is this?" I asked.

He shrugged and started walking towards me, "Helen Rose Hemmings. We've been together for what? 10 months now? And I've missed six of those months. I don't like that. I don't like that I'm missing out on all the opportunities we could've had. It kills me to think that. So I really want to make it up to you." He scratched the back of his head and took a deep breath. "Will you do me the grand honor of going on a date with me?"

My heart melted, "I'd love to, Calum."

He smiled widely and pulled me into a long, sweet kiss. "These are for you," he handed me the bouquet of roses.

"They're beautiful. Thank you."

"Start getting ready because we leave in less than two hours."

"What?!" I exclaimed. "Calum, I don't know what I'm going to wear!"

He chuckled and took my hand before dragging me upstairs.

"I'm serious Calum, is this formal? Casual?" I asked. He led me to our room where there was a box placed on the bed.

"This is your other gift," Calum picked the box up and handed it to me. "It's a casual dinner and even I don't know what kind of dress is in there."

"Dress?" I asked.

He tilted my chin up and placed a kiss on my lips, "You'll look great darling. Trust me."
