Tell Me a Lie

1. Not This Time

“You’re beautiful.” Justin whispered brushing my hair out of my face.

“No I’m not. I’m an average girl.” I muttered looking down at my feet.

“Ana, you are gorgeous. You are anything but average.” He elaborated before kissing my cheek. I blushed under the touch and sighed as he turned away.

‘I wonder if he knows how much I love him’ I thought to myself. Taking a deep breath I rounded the corner of the school building only to catch my new boyfriend pushed up against the wall with his best friend. My heart dropped to my stomach and a knot tied up my throat, the only way to get his attention was to break them up. I walked up and tapped on his shoulder, he glanced over at me and surprise filled his face.

“Ana!” he exclaimed. Pushing Kasey off of him, she looked between us bewildered. “Kasey, this is my girlfriend—“

“Ex-girlfriend, Ana” I corrected turning away, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me back to face him.

“What do you mean? We’re over? It hasn’t even been a day” He questioned almost pleading.

“Hasn’t even been a day and you’re cheating. I know.” I growled pulling my hand free and walking away. The second I was away from them I ran to my secluded hideout on the school grounds. As soon as I reached it, I dropped to my knees and sobbed uncontrollably, my heart crumbling inside my chest. ‘Please tell me a lie’ I thought.
