Dramatic Monologue based on Out Of The Blue

This is a dramatic monologue I had to create for school and it is based on the beautiful poem Out Of The Blue. I made this out of respect for all those who died during 9/11 .
DISCLAIMER : THIS IS NOT BASED ON ANY TRUE STORIES OR WHAT I BELIEVE IT WOULD HAVE BEEN LIKE IT IS A CREATIVE WRITING PIECE AND NO OFFENSE IS INTENDED.
Feedback would be great :)

In the turmoil straight after the first crash of the twin towers, focusing on a man who is trapped with no way out and can only think of them– the people who mean the most to him.

(The man is on a floor 20 levels below the impact zone of the crash, not involved in the direct crash but too high up to escape. He has been knocked unconscious by the initial impact into the building. He lies face down with his head tilted slightly to the left, almost curiously. His face is peaceful and relaxed, almost too relaxed. He is in an office, which is quickly filling with the thick, musky smell of smoke and charred bodies. Natural light off the morning dimly lights up the room through the bare window. The distant and muted sound of cars can be heard far away.

The man is in his office which is rather plain, with 3 grey, bleak and drab walls-that look nothing more than painted concrete; one glass wall -over looking its sister building- that has a large fracture running through it that looks dangerously close to splitting. There is very little furniture: a couple of official-looking spinning chairs, 2 plain pine desks – which have a couple of bits of stationary scattered aimlessly across them. Everything looks calm and peaceful.  )
