Dylan was excited! She had invited Luke and Ashton for dinner. When she saw Luke's message she blushed. She wasn't expecting him to text her.
She rushed to the living room where Calum and Michael were watching the football game. She had to cook dinner by herself, the boys' excuse being that they didn't know how to cook.
Yeah, right. Last week, Calum had cooked her an entire breakfast, saying that he felt like cooking. Michael cooked dinner the other day, lasagna and apple pie for dessert.
She didn't know whether the guys would want Luke and Ashton here, she had to ask them. She looked in the living room, Calum was watching the game. Michael was in his room probably. She knew she could crack him. Calum was harder to convince.
She went off looking for Michael. She found him in his room.
She knocked on the door to gain his attention.
"Hi, Michael!" She said. He raised and eyebrow at her. She looked overly happy.
Either she wanted something or she had eaten a ton of candy.
"Okay, so you either want something, or you ate loads of candy." Michael told her.
"How did you know?" She asked.
"You've only been that excited when you wanted Calum to buy you the candy floss at the fair." He said.
"Oh right. Well, I was wondering if Ashton and Luke could come over for dinner?" She asked with a smile on her face.
"Did you finish cooking dinner?"
"Not yet, still missing some stuff." She said.
"You already invited them, didn't you?" He said.
"I may or may not have."
"Then why are you asking me?"
"Because I wanted it to be okay with you guys"
Why didn't you ask Calum?"
"Because . . ."
"Because I'm easier to convince?" He laughed.
"Maybe . . . " She smiled.
"Whatever, let's go to the living room." She went out with Michael behind her.
"Calum! Luke and Ashton are coming for dinner." Michael told him.
"What? Since when?" He looked at Dylan who was smiling at him. "You invited them?" She nodded. "Why?"
"Because-" She got cut off by the doorbell ringing. She went off to open the door.
"Hi guys." She said when she opened the door. "The boys are in the living room." She let them come in.
Ashton went to the living room, but she could feel someone following her into the kitchen.
"Oh, you aren't going to hang out with the boys?" She told Luke.
"I'd rather be here with you."
"Oh, well. You can help me with dinner." She was already done with the food, she just needed help with dessert.
"What are we having for dinner?" Luke asked. He went to the other side of the counter to help Dylan in whatever she was doing.
"We are having spaghetti, and for dessert we have chocolate mousse!" She said. Dylan loved cooking. She always cooked things for the boys, not because it was her duty as the girl of the house, but because she wanted to. The boys loved everything she cooked for them.
"Sounds delicious. What do you need help with?" He asked.
"Well, you can star by measuring what we need."
They spent a while with the chocolate mousse. Cracking jokes and laughing. Some of the mousse ended up on their faces. Luke chasing Dylan around the kitchen to wipe the mousse on her face, because she did the same to his nose.
After about fifteen minutes, the mousse was done and they could finally sit down for dinner.
"Can you take the plates to the living room? I'm gonna tell the boys dinner is ready." He nodded.
Dylan went to get the boys. Calum was the first to notice her. "Dinner is ready." She told him.
"Let us finish the game." Calum answered her. She saw Ashton go to the dining room. She smiled gratefully at him. At least on of them is listening.
Dylan stood in front of the TV, blocking the boys' vision. making them groan in annoyance. "Dinner is ready." She repeated. "We have visitors, plus you can watch the game online some other time." The boys' rolled their eyes. She insisted and pointed to the dining room. The boys sighed and stood up. She smiled in victory.
Dinner went well. They joked and laughed Dylan was glad the four boys got along well. It meant she could see Luke more often. She brought out the chocolate mousse and a tub of vanilla ice cream.
"Luke helped me with the mousse." Dylan stated.
"Really now? Since when do you bake?" Ashton asked.
"Since Dylan wanted my help when they won't give it to her." Luke stated, eyeing Michael and Calum.
"She would've kicked us out of the kitchen." Calum said.
"True." Dylan said.
After dinner, they washed the dishes. Michael said he wanted to play video games and if they wanted to join.
"Calum, I'm going to my room. Call me when the boys' leave? I want to say goodbye." She told him.
"Sure." And he went off to the game room.
Dylan spent hours watching TV, scrolling through Tumblr, searching for places they could go on their road trip and looking for some clothes online. She had changed to her PJ's and her hair was up on a messy bun. Her eyes felt heavy and they were starting to close.
One hour until midnight.
She wondered if they were still in the game room. Michael and Calum had convinced her to turn one of the house's rooms into a game room. After hours of pleading and annoying she gave in.
A knock on her door cut off her thoughts. Calum walked in.
"The boys are living." He said.
Dylan wanted to sleep, but still, she stood up and let Calum guide her to the living room.
"Bye guys, thank you for coming." She said and hugged each of them.
"Thank you for inviting us. Bye guys." Ashton said.
Dylan couldn't hold herself anymore, the sleep gaining power over her body.
"Carry me?" She asked Calum. He laughed and carried her bridal style. Dylan cuddled up in his arms and dozed off.
"Bye guys." Michael closed the door.
"I'll take her to her room? Are you going to keep playing or what?" Calum asked Michael.
"No man, I'm going to sleep." Michael went of to his room.
"See ya in the morning." Calum entered Dylan bedroom and set her on the bed. She instantly snuggled into the white fluffy comforter on the bed.
"Sweet dreams girl." Calum kissed her forehead and turned off the lights.
He also called it a night and headed to his room.
