NOW I have decided. I promised my self I will protect Joshua no matter what happens. His situation today was hard and I was the only one left with him. Mom, I know you’ll help me.
The doorbell sounded. I was just here in the kitchen cooking for our breakfast. I think Joshua’s still asleep. I was about to go and open the door when I realized we shouldn’t be having visitors by now. I opened the door ajar first but as soon as I peeped out, Inigo suddenly pushed the door so strong that it swung open and I was thrown aside a little. He came in wearing a bright smile just as the bright sun starting to rise. “Good morning!” he greeted lively.
“What are you doing here? Joshua might see you.” I said. He stopped from looking around the walls with paintings hanging then looked at me a little surprised. Soon, he smiled.
“He really was dear to you.” He said.
“His father died. I was the only one left with him. Now you must go outside and…” grunts trying to push him out, “mind your own business.” I loosed a breath after trying to push him out normally like what human does. I do not want to use my supernatural powers, not this time. He was as strong as a stone. I can’t push him.
After few minutes I heard Joshua call my name from behind. Inigo and I both looked at him. His face was expressionless but in his eyes were questioning.
“Uhm…” my jaw dropped as he stares at us.
“Inigo Colin here!” he started taking steps forward him as they met each others’ smile. And then, he offered him his hand for a shake of hands. His jaw rose while Joshua’s expression didn’t change. Both were almost the same height, Joshua’s just an inch taller than him. However, he didn’t accept the hand but just stared at his face.
“Ye-es, he’s Inigo. I just met him and he- he was here because—”
“Have I already told you about my purpose of coming here?!” he frowned lowering his hand as he faces me. Then again turned to Joshua once again offering him his hand, “I said I am Inigo. Aren’t you going to respond?” Joshua still didn’t speak. “Ahm,” He cleared his throat as he scratched his forehead with his forefinger and frowned. “You feel strange? Yes, you’re right to feel that because I am a werewolf—”
“Stop it!” I said stepping on Joshua’s side. “You’re not—”
“Do you have any idea about us? An enemy of vampire or demon or what? Those were during the olden days. So you see, I am here not to fight with your…” he took a glimpse on me, “sister or whoever she is. We were actually running to be friends.” He said opening his arms.
I shook my head. Inigo is so wrong of what he was doing. I didn’t want Joshua to be involved in any of this. I don’t want him to be close with anyone who’s just like me. I faced him and tried to open my mouth for an explanation but—he stepped forward ignoring me behind and daringly stared back at Inigo’s eyes.
“You know me.” Joshua said and then turned his back going to the kitchen.
Inigo shook his head awkwardly and just lowered his ignored hand then looked at me, my hands on my hips as I bit my lower lip.
“What is it? What do you need?” I asked as I walk through our front deck and he was following me.
“I know how to find Agnes.”
My eyes went wider and get the chance to search his face. “How?” I quickly asked.
“There is this witch named Bridgette. She has been a friend of Agnes so I am certain she could help us.” He said.
I felt something that rose inside of me. I smiled with relief. I just missed her so much. I noticed Inigo was looking at me.
“What?” I just asked and he just looked at me from foot to head.
“You are smiling.” He said.
“It’s my first time to see you but anyway who cares, I’m just a little surprised.”
I frowned. “So, why are you doing this?” I asked. I saw his face expression changed then looked at the front yard. But soon he put his stare back at me. It’s just that, he didn’t answer. “A-ah of course, maybe because of your brother. Alright, I got it.” I refused from his stare. It’s different this time. But I am certain the reason I guessed earlier is not a hundred percent sure.
THE next day after informing Joshua, I went out the house and a little surprised, I saw a car in front. Inside were Huford at the driver’s sit and Inigo beside him. After signing me, I went straight to the car and opened its door then went in. I frowned with irritation when Huford started to drive. He was driving so fast as if the car’s flying. They also played a loud music that I almost can’t hear the car’s speed sound.
“Don’t be too fast!” I yelled trying to reach their ears but they just looked back at me then smiled at each other. Alright, they are the most careless I’ve ever met. “Huford…watch ouuuuuuut!” I yelled when I saw another car which we nearly bumped. Fortunately, Huford was fast on refusing it. I saw from the mirror that the car stopped from behind and a rich-looking man went out. I screamed in shock when I suddenly heard a gunshot. Huford stopped the car and waited for the pissed man approach us with a gun on his hand.
“No, Huford no. Please just go.” I begged after seeing their expression. He may look so calmed but I can read what he was thinking. He didn’t hear me. He opened the window and faced up the man. “Uhm, we apologize for that sir. It is our fault.” I quickly said as he looks at me. But still, he raised his hand holding a gun and then I heard a gunshot again. I closed my eyes. I can’t believe something like this is going to happen first. I opened my eyes again and then saw Huford very safe but looking through the window, the man was gone. I looked at Inigo and he was holding a gun. I didn’t realize he has one. I gasped and then freeze for a moment. “Don’t tell me…”
“I shot him.” He immediately continued.
I was like, oh no! I opened the door and stepped out the car. I saw the man lying on his own blood with his gun thrown a distance away from him. I covered my mouth and I was about to get him for help but Inigo quickly grabbed my hand and then pushed me back the car as he followed beside. The car started to move as I hear a police mobile approaching.
“Are you crazy?! You shouldn’t have done that! He’s going to die!” I angrily said as he just rolls his eyes in bore, “how could you just shoot someone like that?!” I felt like I am about to cry about what just happened.
“Hush now. Could you just tell us his blood smells good and that made you really thirsty? It’s better to hear.” He just said in a joking way as they laugh together with Hyuford and again, the loud music started. I just felt my blood rise and then suddenly my hand moved to strike his face so hard. He stopped laughing and I just looked away as Hyuford again burst with laugh. Soon, I again heard Inigo’s laugh. It’s annoying me.
