Chapter 7: The Park
"What do you call an igloo with a toliet?" Calum asked. I shrugged, licking my ice-cream. "An ig." He said, waiting for us to laugh. I giggled and Luke chuckled. But, Michael didn't seem to get it and Ashton was talking to someone on the phone.
"What?" Mikey asked.
"It's an ig because there's not a bathroom. Loo means toliet..." Luke explained. Mikey finally got it and started to laugh. I smiled. I was feeling a little better having the boys here making me laugh with their idiotic jokes and buying me ice-cream. I was having a blast.
"What do you want to do next?" Ash asked, hanging up his phone. I shrugged, taking another lick of my ice-cream.
"Wherever you guys want to do is fine with me." I said.
"We did this because of you, now you decide what we do." He said. I sigh.
"Ok, let's go to the playground." A wide smile came across Cal's face.
"I thought you'd never say it." He said, before dashing off to the swings. I giggle and race after them, giving my ice-cream to Mikey, which he gratefully ate. Once I reached the swings, I quickly climbed on before Luke could. There was only 2 swings and me and Cal had one. Luke sighed.
"That's no fair!" He whined.
"Shut up and push me." Calum demanded.
"I don't wanna." Luke said, crossing his arms.
"Luke, don't make me go over there. You will obey me."
"No." Luke said, sitting in the sand.
"Fine, then I'll just have to make you." Calum said, getting off the swing and marching toward Luke. But, as soon as Calum reached Luke, Michael had already stole his spot.
"Wha- Clifford!" Calum said angrily, stomping his foot. Michael just chuckled, and took my hand. I looked down at our intertwined fingers and smiled. That familiar spark shot up my arm, and it gave me the most happiest feeling in the world, despite what I had dreamt about. I looked back at the 2 idiots in the sand. They had forgotten about the swing and started to build sand castles.
"Awwwww, look at the 2 lovebirds." Someone said, making Cal and Luke look up from their little competition. They'aw'ed. I looked at the person who said that. It was Ashton.
"Shut up Ash." I whined, and he just winked, sitting down with Cal and Luke. Michael squeezed my hand and I looked up at him.
"Let's build some sand castles." He said. I nodded.
"Ok." He got off the swing, and sat down in the sand, dragging me with him. When I hit the sand, I giggled at his silliness. Ash kicked sand me, laughing. I shrieked, and started to throw sand. Soon, everyone was cover with sand. Mikey shook his head, and a shower of sand rained on me. I giggled, and shook it off. We all started to laugh. Then, someone's phone started to ring. I reached into my pocket and pulled mine out. It was Paul. I answered it.
"Hello?" I asked.
"Yup. What did you need?" I asked.
"Are the boys with you?" He asked.
"Where are you guys at?"
"Without protection?!" He nearly yelled.
"Ummm.... yeah..?" I hesitantly said. He heaved a huge sigh.
"Ok. Just be safe. Be back by 3:30. The boys have rehearsal."
"Bye." I hung up, and looked up. The boys were staring at me. "What?"
"What did he say?" Calum asked.
"What did who say?" I said.
"Paul!" They all said at once. I giggled.
"Oh, he just asked where we were. Why?"
"Because we heard him yelling and didn't want to be in trouble." Michael said. I shook my head.
"Nope. But, we do have to get back by 3:30." I told them, starting my castle back up. "It's 11:15 so we have plenty of time. Ashton, you're gonna be the judge of these when we're done, see whose is better." He nodded, and sat down next to us setting the timer on his phone.
"How long?" He asked.
"Umm 5 minutes will do." He nodded, and clicked start.
"The winner is............" Ashton did a drum roll. "Luke and Calum's!" He said, raising their arms.
"It's Cake." Calum corrected.
"Sorry." Ash said.
"I told you we needed a flag!" I complained at Michael.
"We also needed a window, but no! We had to build the moat first."
"Every single castle has a moat!"
"And every single castle has at least one window!" I slowly turned toward him, making eye contact. Then, busted out laughing.
"We are so stupid." I said.
"Yup!" Mikey said back, chuckling.
"Hey, did we win anything?" Luke asked.
"Ummmm." Ash looked around. "Ah ha! An acorn! You won one acorn."
"But there's 2 of us." Cal said, looking at the acorn in his hand.
"Then share."He shrugged, and Luke and Cal wrestled for a pathetic acorn. I couldn't stop laughing especially when Luke got a little too into it.
"Ow! Luke! Stop biting me!" Cal cried out, earning looks from the passing people. I rolled over laughing and giggling. Ashton's giggles could be heard from a mile away.
"Fine fine! Here have the damn thing, you animal." Calum said, throwing the acorn. It landed perfectly in Luke's hair, getting stuck. I couldn't help it. I did the most embarrassing thing ever. I laughed so hard I snorted. It was loud, too. Mikey stopped chuckling, Ash stopped giggling, Luke stopped trying to get the acorn out of his hair, and Cal looked at me. I covered my mouth with my hands, my eyes growing wide.
"Oh my god, did you just seriously snort?" Ashton asked. I nodded slowly, and he started to giggle all over again. Then, the rest joined in, and my face went red. But, Mikey scooted over. Nobody seemed to notice as he leaned over and whispered in my ear.
"Don't worry, babe, I thought it was cute."
And that just made my cheeks redder.
