“She’s your best friend!”
Georgia stopped in the doorway and stared at the pair. She watched as Naruto and Lozzie flew at each other. She glanced to the side frowning when she noticed the bodies lying on the floor. She turned back to them as Naruto flew towards a hole blasted into the wall. Georgia scanned the area her eyes flashing the illuminous blue again, she ran forwards picking up the gun that was lying on the floor and aimed it at a beam that was just above it. The environment before her turned blue and targets turned up, Naruto slowing down slightly. The targets moved a bit before stopping on the corner of beam, Georgia smiled.
“There you are.” She muttered.
She moved it to fit where the target had been and shot at it. The beam dislodged and fell behind Naruto cushioning him and stopping him from falling out of the building. She turned back to face her friend.
“We need to talk.” She paused. “Now.”
Lozzie laughed and shook her head.
Georgia took a step closer and raised an eyebrow at her.
“Ok, so let’s talk. I’m the evil villain, you’re obviously the nice hero. Anything else?” Lozzie replied sarcastically.
“How about, what the hell are you doing?! Or what made you do all this?” Georgia replied.
“What the hell am I doing?! Oh come on what does it look like? I’m going to take over the world. Secondly what made me do all this and change is easy. They killed Eric. What else do you want to know?”
“Eric…he wasn’t the best person. I know how that affected you, but, doing all this and using the only person whoever stood by you is not how to go about dealing with it.”
“I get it.”
Both women turned to Naruto as he stood up again and approached them.
“I get what it’s like to hate everyone and feel alone. I was like that.” He told her.
“You don’t know anything kid.” She replied. “No stay out of this get it?”
Naruto shook his head and carried on walking.
“What I don’t get though is how you can try to kill your best friend.” He carried on. “She’s stood by you all this time and you tried to hurt her. Who does that?”
“Naruto stay out of this.” Georgia warned him. “Eric was someone close to Lozzie. He got killed and the intelligence we worked for didn’t even give him the respect her earned. She was bitter about it for months on end. I’d thought that she’d gotten over it but it turns out she hasn’t.”
Georgia turned back to Lozzie.
“I vowed to never hurt you no matter what. I did that because you’re like a sister to me, but, sisters do not do this.” She said. “I honestly do not want to hurt you but I think that this might have to-“
The explosion sounded, the building shaking violently. Georgia rushed at Naruto catching him as he fell. A laugh behind them sounded as another explosion sounded.
“Finally I can kill you. You stupid ignorant bitch.”
A third and final explosion sounded as the ground beneath Lozzie started to crumble. Georgia flung Naruto towards the entrance.
“Naruto get out of here right now!” She shouted at him.
“I’m not leaving yet Sensei!” He shouted back.
Georgia glared at him. Her eyes flashed blue, sending Naruto flying back out of it. She ran forwards, catching her friend’s hand as she fell.
“You know…you should probably let go now.” Lozzie said.
“So now you worry about me?” Georgia laughed slightly. “No thanks, I think I can get us out of here alive.” She replied.
“I was wrong. I was never going to let you get hurt. I took you to remove the ‘safety’ as I’d figured I’d need you to stop me.”
“Wow. Change your mind much idiot.” Georgia went quiet for a second. “I’m not letting go.” She stated defiantly.
Lozzie thought for a moment another explosion sounding. She laughed again.
“Does is still work?” She asked.
Georgia stared at her confused.
“What the safety? Yeah, you didn’t remove it.” She looked away before looking back at her. “Why would you want to-?”
“Shutdown.” She interrupted. “Shutdown.” She repeated.
Georgia shook her head as a tiredness started to fade in.
“Don’t…” Her voice faded out as her eyes became heavy. “Don’t…you…”
The last thing he remembered before closing her eyes was the smile of her best friend as she fell.
