"Does anyone have a new story for me?" I asked in a meeting. My boss quite, well, more like fired, so, they couldn't find anyone else, so they had to choose me. So now, I'm the boss. And for some reason, everyone is afraid of me.
"I have, One Direction starts tour next week." Jasmine, a publisher said. "Save that one, I might use it." I said. "Next? Anyone else?" I asked. No response. "Alright, I guess I have one, well, I kind of published it already." Heather, a writer said. "Michael Clifford's 'ex' girlfriend, Abigail Breslin wrote a song, you suck, for him." She said. I was debating if I wanted to use it or not. "Save that." I said.
"People, this magazine is supposed to be in stores at the end of the month! That gives us two weeks! We only have two ideas! I want reporters, publishers, writers, everyone to go out and follow celebrities! I need something! This is Hollywood people, there are many things to say!" I yelled. "Meeting dismissed." I said.
Everyone left the room, and I stayed. Little nauseous. "Ashley, you have a visitor." Nicole said. I sighed, and nodded. "Hey, you okay?" She asked. I nodded. "You don't look okay." She said. "I'm fine. Tell who ever it is, to wait in my office." I said. She nodded.
I finally walked out the room, and into my office. "Hey." Ashton said. "Hi." I said, out of breath. "Busy?" He asked. "Not really." I replied. "You alright?" He asked. "Yea, just feel sick." I said. "I want you to come home." He said. "Ash-" "you don't look good, please." He said. "Nicole!" Ashton yelled. She walked in. "Clear her schedule today. And possibly tomorrow." He said. She nodded and walked out.
Once we got out of the car, I got ambushed by paparazzi. "What's the baby's name!" Some asked. "Why did you put that in your last month magazine!" Another one asked. "I don't like this." I said. "We are almost there." He said. "Wait." I said. "These are my people." I said. "Go back to the office quickly." I said. He sighed. "Please. I'll be ten minutes." I said. "Fine." He said, turning around.
Once I got into the office, I slammed the door closed. "Everyone out here now!" I yelled. One after the other came running out. "I am not the kind of person to be angry. I usually don't get angry." I yelled. "But when someone tells our reporters to follow me, I get angry! Because they are my own people!" I yelled. "Who sent them out!" I yelled. No one said anything. "Who!" I yelled. Brook stepped forward. "I'm sorry. It was me." She said. "My office. Now. Everyone else. Back to work." I yelled.
She sat down, looking nervous. "Ms. Green. I am so sorry." She said. "Brook, I like you. My family likes you. Michael likes you. Michael really does. And if I do anything, my family and Michael will hate me." I said. She just looked at me. "So, because of that, I'm not gonna do anything." I said. "I like you brook. I really do. I think you have potential. And I think one day you can take my job." I said. "I want you to be the best you can be. You already are on my good side. Don't change that." I said. She nodded. "Ashton is waiting outside, do you want to come home with me?" I asked. She nodded.
"Hey, you told me ten minutes." Ashton said as I got in the car. "Sorry." I said. "Rachel and Lauren are home." He said. "Michael has Jackie." He said. I nodded.
I was feeling nauseous again. Really badly. "Pull over." I said. "Ashton! Pull over!" I yelled. He pulled over on the side of the road, and I ran out.
I was throwing up, and someone came behind me, and held my hair, and rubbed my back. "It's okay. Let it out." He said. I finally finished throwing up, and I sat on the ground. "Babe, the ground is wet." He said. I was coughing. "Okay, that's it. You're not going to work tomorrow." He said. I shook my head. "Yes Ashley. Now come on." He said, helping me up. I shook my head. "Nauseous." I said. He walked me to the car.
"Hey." Michael said, as we walked into the door. "I heard about your outbreak today." He said. "You look awful." He said. "Thanks." I replied. "Brook you can come in." I said. "Brooks here?" Michael asked. I nodded.
I gagged, and ran to the bathroom. Again, I threw up. This didn't happen when I had Jackie. Did it? I don't remember.
I finished, and sat against the wall. "Mom." Jackie said. "What ever it is, go ask dad." I said. I again started to feel sick. "A-" I got cut off, my throwing up all over.
I finally got up, and took off my dress, leaving me in my bra. "Come on." Someone said. It was Calum. "I don't feel good at all." I said. "Let's get you to bed." He said.
I woke up, not feeling sick. "Hey babe. How ya feeling?" Ashton asked. "Better." I replied. "Brook stayed the night, she was worried about you." He said. I smiled.
"Let's get you up, and ready for your appointment." He said, helping me up. "Thanks." I said, once I stood up. "The guys want to come." Ashton said. "They can. I mean, they are practically family." I said. He nodded.
"Alright Ashley. This is gonna be kind of cold, this is just so we can see the baby." The lady who was doing my altrasound said. She was right. It was cold.
"Baby's heart rate is normal. It's growing great." She said. I smiled. "Would you like to know the gender?" She asked. Ashton took my hand, and we both nodded. "It's a girl." She said. Ashton's smile grew wide.
"Is there any complications you had with this pregnancy?" She asked. "She was actually very sick yesterday. Throwing up practically every minute." Ashton said. "That's very normal with a second child." She said. "How did you know?" I asked. "I remember a face." She said. I smiled. "And screaming. And crying. And pain." She said. I laughed.
"Hey Mikey, it's me." I said over the phone. "Hey! So, how'd it go?" He asked. "Great. The heart beat is normal. Shes growing great." I said. "She? You said she! It's a girl!" He yelled. I heard yelling in the background. "Ash, you ready?" Ashley asked. "Yeah, Mikey. We'll be home soon." I said hanging up.
"I can't believe it's a girl." I said. She smiled. "You alright?" I asked. "Yeah. Just, when she said second child, it made me feel... I don't know. Self conscious?" She replied.
I pulled over on the side of the road. "Ashley." I said. "Ashley look at me." I said. She moved her head up slightly. I put my finger under her chin, and moved her head up, until her eyes lined with mine. "You're beautiful. Pregnant or not pregnant." I said. She looked down. "I love you Ashley. You're beautiful. Don't forget that alright." I said. She nodded.
