I ran up to my room and gently closed my door. Tears started to drop onto my face like a leaky faucet. I grabbed my guitar and started to play 'I Miss You'. As the words rolled off my tongue I felt the tears roll down my face even harder. As I sang I looked into the mirror. I wasn't entirely satisfied with what I saw. I don't mean my appearance, I'm quite satisfied with that. But I looked deeper. Is what he said true, I'm nothing more than a bitch? As this thought rolled thew my head the tears came like niagara Falls.
I stood up and put my guitar away. I grabbed an old shoe box that was buried deep into my closest. I went over to my bed and laid down. I slowly sifted thew the contents in the box. There was all the photos of me and Luke. I picked up a photo and looked at it with intensity.
I was wearing a Seahawks jersey, knee length shorts, a white bow, and blue converse. I looked down at me and then the photo. As I looked down me I saw how I changed. I was wearing a black hoodie with a skull on it, really short shorts, the tips of my hair dyed red, and black converse. I never was one for dressing up, but back then I still looked innocent.
I stood up and walked over to my mirror. I then walked over to my desk and grabbed a pair of scissors. I slowly cut of the part of my hair dyed red. I then walked over to my closet. I grabbed the only nice clothes I had. I put on non-cut shorts, the only Seahawks jersey I had left. I then curled my hair.
I looked at photo the in the mirror. I slowly smiled at the fact I knew this was me, the real me. My concentration was soon broke when I heard a knock on the door. "Who is it." I spoke softly. "Fio it's your mom, I'm really sorry but I have to go meet Cindy about the wedding invitations." "Ok." I said starting to cry again. "I'm leaving you and Luke in charge of the kids." She said before she walked off.
I laid on my bed crying softly. After awhile I heard a knock on the door. "Yes." I said wiping away my tears. "Fio come downstairs I have a surprise." I heard Matthew say happily.
I creaked open the door and looked down at him. He grabbed my hand pulled down the stairs. "Close your eyes." He demanded as we walked into the kitchen. I did as I was told. He stopped and told me to open my eyes. I saw Luke sititng at the table. Mathew pushed me to the seat.
"Why did you put them up to this?" I scoffed. But he ignored me, and just stared. "You look amazing." He whispered. "Stop lying Luke." I said crossing my arms. "I'm not." He said shaking his head. I slowly uncrossed my arms, and started blushing. We starred at each other.
That was soon interrupted by Matthew. "Foods here." He yelled at the top of his lungs. I looked down at the plate. "Plastic eggs, yum." I said sarcastically. Luke let out a laugh.
"I'm really sorry." Luke said fiddling with his fingers. "Well I guess it's ok." I said shyly. I walked over to the phone and picked it up. "Yes." I said into the phone. I slowly hung it up. I walked over and sat back down.
"What's wrong?" Luke asked grabbing my hand. "Nothing." I sighed. "With the time that I've been here I've seen you get really upset and this is one of those times so tell me that's wrong." He demanded. "I'm just kinda upset about my mom getting remarried." I said trying not to cry. "Does your dad know about this?" He asked.
"Are you and idiot Luke, my dad died, oh yah but you wouldn't know that cause you never bothered to stay in touch." I yelled in a sarcastic tone. "I'm sorry Fio I didn't know, I'm sorry I wasn't here." He said walking over to me. He wrapped his arms around me. "I.... I still don't like you Luke." I said pushing him away. "I thought you forgave me." He said confused. "I did, but that doesn't mean your my everything again." I said looking at him intensely. "Oh." Was the only words he managed to say.
I stood up and walked over to the stack of movies. I grabbed a blue case. I slowly opened it and put in the DVR. A tear dripped down my face as I watched the movie. "He was so proud of you." Luke said sitting down next to me. "Yeah, but I know he wouldn't be proud of me now." I sighed. "Well not the girl that you were when I came here, but I know he would be proud of the girl sitting here right now." He said looking at me.
I looked at Fio. She had a tear stained cheek, and another one on the way. She watched the videos of the memories of her and her dad. The one that caught my attention was the one were her and her mom were in the stands watching her dad play. It was the semifinals. After the game she ran up to him and wrapped her arms around his neck. "In my mind you always win." She said to him. That was the last clip before the videos ended.
