2. Five Years Later
Five Years Later
"C'mon mom, I'll be fine. I'm gonna be late for school." My mother has been so protective over me since my dad left. Nobody knows what happened to him. I guess it's better that we don't know. It makes it a hell of a lot easier. "I know. I know. Just, be safe. Ok?" She was trying so hard to move on. God, he's such an ass. I wish he weren't ever my father. None of this would have ever happened. But of course, I would have never happened. "I've gotta go now. Bye mom, I love you." I grabbed the car door handle and got out of the car. "Bye sweet heart. I love you so much." She waved and watched me walk to the door. You gotta love a hovering mom.
I walked to my locker on the opposite side of the school. As I approached my locker, I noticed a new boy standing nearby. He was starring at me. It almost felt like he was glaring. What's his problem. I opened my locker and exchanged my bag for my notebook. I shut the door and nearly yelped. The boy was standing inches away from me. "W-What do you want?" He grinned. "Nothing. I just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Luke. Luke Hemmings." He starred at me, half expecting something. "Oh! I'm Jo. Short for Jolee." He smiled at me. "Jo. Hmmm, I like it. It sounds so, special." Okay then. "Um, bye." He grabbed my arm. "Where ya going?" I yanked my arm free. "None of your business. Leave me alone." I quickly walked to my biology class and never looked back. Weirdo.
