10. Bad Hair and Baby Daddy's
Alexis was going to the hairdressers to get her blond ombre re-done and was meeting Ben for the first time in ages. She was taking Aubree with her so she would actually get to see her father for once.
She was up at 9am to make breakfast for herself and Aubree before putting her hair in a bun and getting dressed into a Love Pink tee and denim shorts. Aubree toddled downstairs with Aunt Joan fully dressed and ready so Alexis was glad she didn't have to go through the struggles of waking up her child again.
Morning Aunt Joan. Morning pumpkin." Alexis said, scooping Aubree into her arms and cuddling her. "Morning mommy." Aubree said giving Alexis a kiss. "We've got pancakes again so eat up, mommy has a hair appointment and were going to see daddy." Alexis said, placing Aubree at her chair to eat. After Aubree made a mess and needed a wash and change, Alexis left for the salon and could finally get the blond back in her hair. The appointment took an hour and she was delighted to have her blond locks back and shining.
She hopped back into her car and drove into Denver city centre to meet Ben at a local coffee shop. "Hey Ben, we've left the salon now so I'll be about 10 minutes. K bye." Alexis said on voicemail to Ben. She parked up in the parking lot and was surprised to actually see Ben stood outside waiting for them. Aubree immediately unbuckled herself and ran over to Ben from the car, shocking Alexis as she now needed a more secure booster seat. "Daddy!" Aubree squealed jumping into Ben's arms. "Hello princess. Alexis." Ben said, kissing his daughters forehead before leading them indoors. "So how's she been?" Ben asked Alexis after they got their drinks. "Fine, bit moody but otherwise my perfect little princess." Alexis said. "Can I see her more?" Ben suddenly asked. "What!" Alexis said shocked. "She's my kid to Lex. I want to be involved more. I've hardly seen her since she was a baby because we broke it off." "Ben, if you cared so much why ask for more visitation now? If you cared so much, you would see her every weekend we've been apart and every weekend of her whole life." Alexis said. "I'm sorry I didn't bother much with her. I was a kid, I didn't know better." Ben said. "Sorry isn't good enough sometimes Ben, its been a year and a half since we ended. You saw her everyday for the first 6 months of her life." Alexis said. "She deserves better than a deadbeat dad like me." Ben sighed. "Don't say that, Ben. You may not have seen her but that doesnt mean your a bad dad. You were the greatest when she was a newborn." Alexis said, grabbing his hand and squeezing it. "Listen, meet me later tonight. I'll take you out and we can talk about custody?" Ben asked. "I'll see what I can do, I've gotta go anyway. I'll text you." Alexis said, picking up Aubree and her coffee cup, kissing Ben on the cheek and walking to the car. "Bye daddy!" Aubree yelled through the window. "Bye honey, love you!" He shouted back waving until he disappeared from Alexis' sight.
