It didn't take too long to get dark. I was never afraid of the dark. I always felt like it comforted me. For some odd reason, I'm scared. Maybe its because of the Walkers out there. Or possibly that I am with a total stranger.
But for whatever reason, I was scared.
"Here we can rest in one of these houses," Luke said.
He walked toward the doorstep, but I grabbed his arm and he pulled back slightly.
"What if people are in there?" I ask him,"What if those things are in there?"
Luke gives a reassuring smile,"Look, do you see any cars here? No, they probably left when everything went to hell. It will be fine, come on."
He motions me to come with him, but I stay still.
"Unless you would like to wait out here?" Luke advised.
I sighed and followed him up to the front door.
Luke turned the door but it was locked.
"Hmm," He said as he looked around, finding a way in.
I looked around and saw a doggie door beside the entrance.
"Here," I said pointing to it.
Luke looks over and nods.
"Little small don't ya think?" Luke said.
"I can try to fit," I said but it was more of a question than a answer.
"Okay be careful, just crawl through and open the door," Luke said nervously.
I didn't really want to. Anything could happen, ya know?
I took my bag off and set my bat down.
"Here just in case," Luke offered as he handed me a small pistol.
"Just in case? Are there bullets in here?" I gulped.
"Yea, yea," Luke said.
I Grabbed the gun and laid on the ground in front of the door.
I scooted through, bit by bit and now my body was half way in.
It was dark, I couldn't see anything. I prayed to god nothing would happen as I finally scooted in all the way. I quickly opened the door letting Luke in.
He brought the things in and I closed the door.
"It's dark," I said quietly.
I couldn't see Luke but I could see his dark figure moving across the room and turned a light on.
"I thought the power went out?" I questioned.
"There was a generator next to the house," Luke shrugged.
"Wait, did you leave when I was in here?" I asked.
His face turned a slight shade of red and coughed.
"Just for a quick second," He joked.
"Wow, so I could have died," I said. Unbelievable.
Just then I saw one of those things behind Luke.
I pulled out my gun and pulled the trigger, but nothing happened.
"Whoa I'm sorry," Luke said backing up with his hands up.
"No,stop th- there's a walker!" I burst out.
Luke turned around and got tackled by a walker.
He tried to wrestle it off of him but I could tell he was struggling.
"HELP ME!" Luke said loudly.
I grabbed my bat and swung at the Walker and it rolled off of Luke.
It was still alive, seriously.
I kept hitting it in the head until it stopped moving.
It was a man, who looked like my dad's age and was super tall.
I dropped my bat and collapsed onto my knees, sobbing quietly.
I felt someone crotch next to me and a pair of hands wrapped around me.
"It's okay, you did it. It's over. You saved me," Luke soothed into my ear.
"Yo- you ga- gave me a gun...it wa-wasn't loaded," I cried.
"I know I'm sorry. I gave you the wrong one," Luke said.
I cried quietly and got up, wiping the tears away.
I looked at Luke and felt the urge to slap him. I raised my hand and Luke just closed his heads, getting ready for the slap.
But I couldn't do it. I dropped my hand down and sighed.
Luke opened his eyes," You didn't slap me? You aren't mad?"
"For what? You saved me earlier. You could have left me at my house to die.You didn't," I said quietly.
Luke reached over, wiping tears and blood from my face.
"I would never let you die,"
