Late Night Games And Early Coffee's
I let out a laugh as we enjoyed the swing set at the local park. It didn’t matter that a few hours ago I had punched a kid at my school, and had shared an ice cream with the one guy I am falling for. Nothing mattered at the moment, I was lost in the beauty of the night and the company of my friends.
“So, how was your date?” Aly questioned as she got off the swing.
“What date?” I questioned stopping.
“The one you had with Ashton.” Sydney smirked. “Don’t you even think that we wouldn’t find out.”
“We just went for an ice cream.” I replied. “Nothing more.”
“No kiss?” Fay winked. “I call that bull.”
“Ain’t no bull.” I laughed. “You know that he was at the school because he wanted to stop the rumour.”
“He’s so cute!” Syd exclaimed. “But he got there too late right?”
“Yeah, I had already punched Diego.” I shrugged. “When’s the other team coming?”
“Harley is supposed to bring them.” Fay replied.
“She used to study at our school.” Aly replied. “Got expelled for having extracurricular activities with a teacher.”
“What?” I chuckled. “For real?”
“Yep.” They all replied.
“Was a nice girl though.” Fay added.
I rolled my eyes, and jumped off the swing grabbing my bag in the process. I winked at my friends and walked over to the bathroom to get ready for the game.
I rubbed my eyes as I stared at my reflection. I had dark bags under my eyes, thanks to the fact that I haven’t slept (not a single hour). After the game ended yesterday around 11:30pm, James and Tucker went over to pick me up and took me to a party, and we got home at 4:15am, and I had to wake up at 5:00am in order to catch the train so that I could meet with whoever I had to. Momma Walker was the responsible one to take me to the train station, and I was sure that she was going to lecture me about not partying on school nights.
“Cat?” Momma Walker knocked at my door. “You up honey?”
“Yeah.” I yawned. “I’ll just finish and be down.”
“I’ll be serving breakfast.” She replied. “The trip is two hours, so you can catch some sleep on the train.”
“Thanks.” I smiled. “You are coming with me?”
“I’m sorry Cat.” She gave me a sad smile. “I have to meet up with the lawyers for a contract.”
“It’s okay.” I smiled. “I might find another exchange fella.” I chuckled.
“It’s possible.” She replied. “Fifteen minutes and we leave.”
I nodded and decided to half fix my hair, as I am far too lazy to actually make it presentable, and due to the fact that most likely I was going to put it on a ponytail for when I meet the person. Applying a bit of mascara, I grabbed my sunglasses and backpack before running down the stairs to have an apple before leaving the house. When Momma Walker had made sure that there was enough breakfast for everyone (including Damien and Tucker) we got inside the car and drove off to the train station.
Once on the train station Momma Walker told me what to do and then she left me alone. I let out a sigh as I walked inside, only to find out that my train would leave at 8:15am, and it was barely 5:45am. Why was I here so early? I don’t even know…
“Cata?” I heard Ashton’s nickname. “Is that you?” I turned around to the sound.
“Ash.” I whispered. “What are you doing here so early?”
“I have a meeting with my grandma.” He replied. “She’s leaving and asked me to help her pack and stuff.” I nodded. “What about you?”
“I have a meeting with the one person whom is supposed to help me adapt.” I shrugged. “When does your train leaves?”
“Eight.” He replied. “Platform 3.”
“No way!” I laughed. “Me too!”
“Have you had breakfast?” I shook my head. “There’s a nice coffee shop around here. Coffee is good, and as I know that you absolutely love coffee, I’m sure you’ll become addicted to this one.”
I smiled at him. “Let’s go then.”
“It’s just you and me.” Ashton whispered. “Another lovely date.”
