"Meredith, what happens between you and Keith?"
"Um.. He-he never like me. No matter how hard I tried, he jus never said anything nice to me. I always thought me hated me, but I never knew why. Why Keith? What had I ever done to you?" Meredith begged crying. Keith looked sad and heartbroken.
"I never hated you, Meredith. I guess I was just jealous."
"He was jealous of you Meredith. He never hated you," I said to her. I was feeling incredibly awkward right now. Her head shot and her a fresh set of tears fell down her cheeks.
"Her life. My dad cheated on my mother with Meredith's mother, and they got her. She didn't have to grow up with her parents fighting and threatening to kill on another. It was a different time, and they couldn't divorce. So when our father died, and Meredith's mother didn't want her, my mother was forced to take her in. Meredith got the attention. Meredith this. Meredith that! "Keith can't you drive Meredith to school!" It was an endless circled and, for that, I hated her. But I still loved her." Yeah that's not confusing at all. Mmkay..
"He was jealous of your life. You got all the attention. Ever since your father died and your mother didn't want you. It was like Keith was your personal butler. Jealousy brings hatred," I smiled slightly, tears pressing my eyeballs. I refuse to cry about this.
"Oh Keith.. I didn't know! I'm so sorry! I don't know how to make it up to you! But I love you I always did! No matter how arrogant and irritating you were, I still loved you like that big brother I always wanted." Okay I was crying now. Damn. Keith smiled slightly. He's eyes suddenly got wide in admiration.
"Do you see it?" I whispered, knowing he could hear me. He looked at me and nodded, tears welling up in his eyes.
"It's so beautiful! My mother and father are waiting for me. They're holding hands, smiling, their wedding rings sparkling in he light. Please tell her I forgive her, and that I love her too!" He said. I nodded and whispered a small "I will". He grinned at me and disappeared into the light. I took a deep breath and looked at Meredith.
"He's gone." She sobbed, hugging me tightly into her, seeking for comfort. I just wrapped my arms around her and hemmed into her ear like my own mother used to when I was little. Then I thought to myself, it's over.. I'll never see him again. Hopefully I'll never have to help a ghost again. But if it did come it happen, I'll do whatever it takes to help them.
