Caleb, Ben, Isaac and myself walked up the pathway leading to large white wooden door with stain glass windows in the middle of them. Ben grasped the brass handles and pushed, we were welcomed by a gush of warmth, the loud chatter of people and the smell of smoke and booze. It reminded me of something horrible, it made me feel uncomfortable but I brushed it off. I was here to party so that's what I'm going to do. We all stood in the entrance of the house, Ben, Isaac and Caleb were greeted by multiple boys and girls, and I stood awkwardly in between them all as I had no idea who was who. Until Isaac pulled me by the arm and introduced me to some people. "Guys! This is Victoria, she's a new addition here in Queens! Victoria, this is Alec and Christian, the Lewis twins, Daniella, their sister, her best friend Yasmin and Curtis her boyfriend!" I shook all their hands and hugged the girls. Yasmin and Curtis looked so in love, it was so cute. He had his arm around her waist and her face was nuzzled into his neck. Caleb led me to the kitchen, and introduced me to Ivy, the hostess of the party. She was flawless. She had long, thick, platinum, blonde hair, glowing golden skin, baby pink round lips, and she was so tall in her heels. She bent down and kissed both my cheeks. I felt so average next to her. She handed me a cup of something. "What's this?" I asked. "It's liquid luck for tonight!" She winked at me and strutted off.
"So!" I turned around and saw Caleb standing behind me. "Are you ready to party?" "HELL YEAH!"
I stumble around the house bumping into people and I ended up running into Chrissy and Heather.
"Oh my god! Victoria you made it!" Chrissy beamed at me and wrapped me into her arms, she smelled like lavender.
"You look so hot, wow! You clean up good!" Heather shouted over the music, she took my hand and spun me around. We stood talking for a while, laughing and joking, until Heather looked behind us, with a death glare. If looks could kill, I thought. We turned around and a guy and girl wandered into the room, and judging by the exchange of dirty looks I guessed it was Macie and Jason.
"He came here? WITH HER!?" Heather power-walked out of the room, me and Chrissy followed her into the back garden.
"That bitch, that dick I hate them so much!" Tears rolled out of her eyes, Chrissy fumbled around in her little purse and pulled out some tissues and began blotting her face to prevent her make up running.
"Don't cry he's so not worth it! You can do so much better!"
I turned around to see Jason and Macie standing at the doorway, looking smug and something snapped inside of me. I turned to Heather. "Chrissy's right you know, you can do way better. I mean look at them! He's wearing a baseball hat, I mean who wears that to a party this classy? And she looks like she belongs in a trailer park. They're stupid they're unclassy, they belong together, you're way out of his league. He is not worth your tears, save them for a guy who's worth it. And tonight we're gonna find you a guy so hot that even Jason will want him over that so called friend. It's the best revenge!"
Chrissy turned to me. "She's so right! There's nothing better than watching Jason crumble as he sees you making out with a hot guy!" Heather wiped her eyes. "Yeah..but who?"
I thought for a minute before saying, "Who's his worst enemy, but also hot?"
In unison they both said "Ben!"
Heather said that when her and Jason split up, Ben found Heather crying on the steps outside. She told him what had happened and he went straight upstairs and walked in on Macie and Jason getting dressed again, he walked over to him and punched him straight in the jaw, so hard he knocked him out. They used to be friends but ever since that day Ben hated him. When Jason tried to talk to him about it in school Ben shouted at him in the middle of the lunch hall, he got so mad he threw mashed potatoes at him and began a food fight and ended up in detention for a week. They haven't spoken since.
I went to go find Ben and I found him leaning against a wall next to Isaac who had his tongue shoved down some girls throat. He saw me and waved, so I walked over to him. "Do you like Heather?" His eyes widened "What? No! Of course not! Why?" It was dark but I could see him blushing. "Just tell me okay it's important" He caved. "Fine yes I do. But don't you dare tell her!"
"I won't, but I have a proposition for you." I explained the whole plan and Ben was drunk enough to go along with it.
"Who want's to play spin the bottle!?" Chrissy shouted and everyone cheered.
Everybody who was involved sat in a circle and after a couple spins and kisses Chrissy positioned in in a way that it landed on Ben and Heather. A silence filled the room and Ben walked over to Heather slowly, he slid his hand around her neck, his other hand around the small of her back and pushed her against the wall. They smiled at each other and he leaned in. At first it was slow and long, but soon enough the kiss deepened, Heather wrapped her hands around his neck and ran her fingers through his hair, he slid his hands down her back. People began to clap and cheer. "Go on Ben!" "You go girl!" and "Finally!" comments filled the air. Apparently by the looks of it people have been waiting a while for this. I was sat next to Macie and Jason so I decided to do my bit for Heather. I said, "What a hot couple. Waay better than that Jason guy. Aww I'm so happy for them, they're like the Beyonce and Jay-Z of the couples!" I turned to Macie and smiled, she didn't know I knew who she was but you could tell she was super pissed. I stood up and made my way to the kitchen and eventually people began to disperse around the house again. I grabbed another drink and made my way to the living room, Ben led Heather up the stairs and they disappeared out of sight. I was so happy for her. Chrissy stood beside me. "Good plan Victoria, you're good at this." She praised me and I smiled at her. The music began blaring out and I felt as if my chest would crack in half, I felt a hand on my shoulder, it was Caleb. "Here! Another drink!" I could smell the alcohol radiating off his tongue. We clunked our cups together and I let the liquid burn down my throat. Caleb ran out of the hallway into the living room, he jumped onto the table with Christian and Alec and began singing along to Childish Gambino's 3005. He really was confident when he was drunk, it was nice to see him like this instead of his shy self who doesn't talk much.
"Hey." A boy now stood next to me. He was very muscular with brown eyes. He wore all black, leather jacket, jeans shoes, shirt. "Oh, um hi, I'm Victoria, and you are?"
"I'm Alistair, nice to meet you Victoria. I haven't seen you here before, are you new?" He was very mysterious, dark, quite intimidating actually.
"Yeah I'm new I came here yesterday from...Pennsylvania. I'm visiting my friends." I pointed to Caleb who was giving Alec a piggy back and spinning around fast.
"That's nice. So how long are you staying in town for Victoria. He peered into my eyes for a long time, like he was trying to pull a secret from them.
"I haven't decided yet, I've not seen them in a long time so I don't know." There was a crash in the living room and I spun my head around to see Caleb and Alec on the floor, people laughing. I turned back around but Alistair wasn't there any more. Isaac pulled Caleb off of the floor and carried him over to me. "I think it's time for us to go." He said hoisting a passed out Caleb up around his shoulders.
"Okay I'll go find everyone else."
I went upstairs and slowly pushed one of the doors open to find Ben and Heather still going at it.
"Um, guys, we're leaving now." Heather jumped off of Ben and bounced out the door to Chrissy who was behind me, Ben walked out, hair messy and lipstick smeared over his face, panting, he put his hand on my shoulder and said "Thank you. So much."
We all began walking down the street, there was a warm breeze that slid past my face and I breathed it in. I watched as they guys in front were messing around, stumbling, laughing like toddlers.
"Victoria, I'd just like to say thank you, so much, your plan was amazing. You're a really good friend." She hugged me and I could feel she meant it. I had more fun tonight than I thought I would have. For the first time in a long time, I felt like an actual teenager again, I feel as if my life was so negative before, now it's care free. No one's hitting me, I'm not drugging and conning people, not wrapped up in my Dad's messed up life. I hope my life stays like this. It feels, right.
