The Super Babies - Part 2

The legend of the X-Babies continue! Baby Lindsay longs to join the X-Babies, especially after her parents died and she was orphaned. Eventually she got her chance, and before she knew it she faced the first foe and the first adventure she knew was coming. "An X-Baby lives to help others," Peter warns her, "not seek adventure." And even when Mr. Stupid NoHead goes his sons are still at large, as is a nearly-forgotten enemy...also, that's Lindsay on the cover.

9. Mr. Stupid NoHead's Sons

10 minutes later, Baby Intelligence returned to the car. He was holding a relatively large GPS. "There's nobody there," he said. "The NoHead base is deserted. But I found a GPS." He held it in front of Lindsay, and hit a button on it. It zoomed in toward Wyoming, then toward Yellowstone. An arrow on the same screen marked NoHead base pointed to a circle there. "They have a new base in Yellowstone."

Two hours later, the Pinewood Derby settled to a landing by the right edge of Yellowstone's thousand-foot-long cliff. The babies climbed out and searched for clues, hoping one would lead them inside the base.

Finally, Lindsay spotted one. Two latches were built over a patch of grass. "Why are there latches here?"

Baby Intelligence, who was helping Force Baby, gave him the magnifying glass they were using together and rushed over. He pulled on the latches, and the patch of grass fell back to reveal a trap door it coated. "Good work, Lindsay!"

With that all 4 babies jumped inside...only to fall down a tube slide. Lindsay and Force Baby screamed as they tumbled down, nt knowing where it would take them.

Krunk! They all landed on a pile of bones. When Baby Intelligence got up, he noticed a wall behind him with the hole they had entered through. He stood up and ignited his sword. "Come on!" he shouted.

The bones crunched under their feet as the babies made their way to the tunnel ahead. Baby Intelligence led them across it, where they stepped out into a spacious, near-empty room made of rock.

Meanwhile, three figures in villainous robes watched them make their way across the cave. "Burnbottom, the S.M.S.B. found us!" said the youngest.

"Go, my brothers," said the oldest. "Let's see what we can do."

The S.M.S.B. reached the edge, only to face a platoon of Rocket soldiers.

"Halt," said the leader.

"Hello there," Baby Intelligence replied.

"Come no further!" the Rocket shouted, pointing a finger.

I doubt this conversation can go much further, thought Baby Intelligence. He raised his sword and cut down the leader. It fell in a mass of sparks and wire. As Lindsay joined in with her own weapon, Force Baby took out several Rockets with his gun. Baby Strength only managed to cut down a few before Baby Intelligence got the last one.

Ahead was a vaulted door. Baby Intelligence walked up to it. "It says here you have to speak German to open it. Erschlie_en."

The door slowly opened, and Baby Intelligence gestured with his sword. The others followed him.

On the other side was a giant chamber. At the other side, three dark figures stood in front of a statue of their father, Mr. Stupid NoHead. All four ignited their swords.

"Who are you?" Baby Intelligence asked, his sword at the ready.

"We are NoHead's sons," said the leader, Hell Burnbottom. His two younger brothers, Brute Gunray and Mean King, stood on either side of him. He ignited his sword and held it up in the formal salute his father had taught him. "We're going to make you pay for roasting our father."

Force Baby shot first, but Burnbottom threw out his arm and tossed Force Baby violently into the air. Then he slammed into the wall and lost consciousness.

Baby Strength raised his sword and charged. Burnbottom parried the first cut with ease. He barely needed to move to parry the next. But instead of parrying the third, he slashed Baby Strength, knocking him to the ground. Smoke rose from the gash in his side.

Lindsay charged, but not before dodging blasts from Gunray and Mean King. Lindsay's attack forced Burnbottom back.

She won't last for long, thought Baby Strength, and with all his remaining strength reached for his sword. "Lindsay!" he shouted, and flung it up to her. Lindsay caught it and attacked again. But even with two swords, she could not hold him back for long. Hell Burnbottom began to toy with Lindsay, first knocking the first sword from her hand.

As Lindsay continued her assualt with Baby Strength's sword, Baby Intelligence snuck out of the room. Stopping Hell Burnbottom wasn't his only task; there was still Rocken Role's voice box to take care of.

Once outside the room, Baby Intelligence used the GPS to lead him to the control center. Once inside he saw the blabberish system controlling the voice box operation at the far end of the room. He ignited his sword...and then plunged it into the mechanical prism, destroying the blabberish system and deactivating Rocken Role's voice box. It would always be artificial, but now it spoke English.

His first task accomplished, it was time to stop the NoHeads--this time for good.
