4. Being Pregnant at 17
Being Pregnant at 17
After my appointment with Doctor Madrow I was feeling more positive about the situation. And now I needed to call Sam and my Dad. God knows what they'll say. Ari drives us back to her house and I go upstairs for a place to talk to him.
Brr brr - brr brr - brr-
"Hey babe." I heard him say.
"I've got something to tell you." I said softly, trying to not panic him.
"What?- go on."
"I've been to the doctors over in Malberry today..."
"I found something out that... um.. I.."
"Babe-" His voice started to sound worried like I was in danger or had a health problem, which is what I didn't want.
"Babe.. You know the party, and..."
"What?!?!" Sams voice sounded concerned.
"I'M PREGNANT!" I said louder now. My heart raced as I waited for his reply and it look a few seconds.
"Oh my gosh, wow, babe..." He was speechless, I just hoped he was happy.
"I hope your okay with it, it's a shock and I-"
"No! It's okay, don't worry, I'm here for you! We will get through this, we have our family babe, it's okay."
I took a sigh of relief. "I love you."
"I love you too... So.. How far along?"
"2 weeks- but the doctors call it 5 weeks since it's from your last period."
"I'm speechless.. I really am."
"I know, I am too."
"I've got to tell Mum, I've got to come up there and see you."
"Ok, well come for a few days if you want?"
"I will. Look, I have to go okay? I love you."
The call ended and all panicking did too- Sam was happy, and still loved me. Mine and my Dads phone call was mostly the same- speechless, happy, shocked. He said he would pass all the news onto the family.
Ari couldn't stop talking about how she is so happy and how she wants to go buy baby clothes for me- even though we don't know the sex until 20 weeks.
I won't stop thinking about it, I'll have a baby in my arms in 8 months. My baby.
I don't believe it, but I guess that's what it's like being pregnant. Pregnant at 17.
