"What the hell are you two doing?" He shouted, his voice echoing off the walls around us, making them feel like they were closing in.
"Pete, this isn't what it looks like" I cried, trying to calm him down, but not succeeding.
"Dude, I think it's exactly what it looks like! You were going to tell my girl you love her. I can't believe you'd betray me like this!"
"I'm not betraying you!"
"Babe, please don't take this out of proportion" Eliza said
"Shut up and don't talk to me. I thought you were the one for me, I'd bought you flowers. Does that mean nothing to you?" Pete said, but there was a trace of a sob in his voice, his angry face loosening a bit as he threw flowers on the ground beneath his feet.
"Pete, calm down , you're making yourself stressed, you know what that does to your body!" I spoke the words with caution, emphasising each one, because if he didn't calm down, his heart would. Well I'm not sure what will happen, but last time he ended up in hospital nearly dead, with the doctor telling us "if he has one of these again, he's going to end up dead!"
Pete seemed to pause for a minute, thinking, but then he cried "I don't care, Eliza is all I had, she was all I needed."
"She's everything I want too Pete. If you need her, if she's all you have, then she can be your girlfriend. But she is everything I've ever wanted." I told him. But without warning, Pete fell to the ground, and I knew what had happened.
