"Okay, cool. It's my lunch break though, and it's almost over so it has to be quick" I smiled but Michael had a smirk on his face. I was confused for a second until I realised what I had just said sounded like, "That sounded a little sexual didn't it?"
Michael and I burst out laughing and people gave us some weird looks. If looks could kill we'd probably be shot a few times...
"Could it maybe be in private?" He said directing it towards Andy and Kirsty who were sitting around the table behind me. The girls got the hint and packed up their lunch and moved to a different table temporarily, "So, I uhh have been wanting to ask you this for a while but I never really had the nerve to so I'm just gonna go out and say it before my confidence plummets" I smiled having a few ideas of what he might ask me.
"Do you want to go on a date tonight?" A crooked smile formed on his lips as his cheeks tinted a light shade of pink, "It doesn't have to be fancy or anything, it could be like getting donuts or-"
I pressed my index finger to his lips, "I'd love to, Mikey" I giggled as I kissed him on the cheek. We both stood up and I pulled him in for a hug seeing as he seemed a little too shy to and he walked off with a grin that went from ear to ear.
Once he had left the room, the girls moved back over to our table with little smiles on their faces, "He asked me on a date" The more I thought about it the bigger my smile got and the more nervous I got too.
"Omg, he did not?" Andy seemed more excited than I was, "Go, babes"
"Break is up, back to work we go" She smiled as she tipped her rubbish in the bin and stacked her tray on the bench, Andy and I followed her actions as we headed back to work.
I've been into every female clothing store in this mall and I still cannot find her a dress for our date. Yeah, I decided to surprise Ellyse by buying her a dress, heels, jewelry and I'm also going to leave a note on her bed as well explaining everything. I hope she likes it or else I will just have spent a whole load of money on nothing.
I brang Luke along with me because I don't know her shoe size or dress size or anything, "Hey, we haven't been into that store!" Luke pointed to a pretty expensive looking store. Above the entrance to the shop in big, bold, sparkly letters is wrote: Forever New.
I was a bit reluctant to go at first, scared of what the price tag might read, but I went anyway knowing that this was pretty much my last hope to find Ellyse a dress.
Luke dragged me into the store and instantly I was greeted by some ladies that must have been working here because they all wore the same thing, "Hello, how may we help you?" The blonde lady named.. Sophie, asked with a big smile that seemed way too big to be real. No one ever smiles that much when they see a stranger, let's be honest here.
"Ahh, yeah. I just wanted to buy a pretty dress for my girlfr- for my friend" I smiled back not wanting to seem rude and the other 2 ladies headed back to.. doing whatever they were doing before I got dragged over here.
"Okay.. Well, over there we have our more formal dresses and to left of that you have party dresses and in between you have the more casual dresses. If you need any help or advice on anything, feel free to come to me. Have a nice time" She smiled before she left and headed back behind the counter.
I started with the casual dresses which was in between all of the others but nothing really caught my eye, "How about this one?" Luke suggested as he pulled a floral, dress that was cinched in at the waist but it just didn't seem right. I walked over to the formal dresses as this one beautiful dusky pink dress that fell to the fall caught my eye. I wanted it. No, I needed it.
I pulled it off the rack and Luke smiled at my choice, "She'll look perfect, mate" He patted me on the back and we walked over to counter to pay for the dress. I was smiling from ear to ear until I heard the price.
"That'll be 230 dollars, thanks" Sophie asked as she scanned the price tag. Mine and Luke's jaw almost shattered to pieces as it hit the ground, "23o dollars, sir?" 230 dollars.. for real? Well, I guess its worth it if it's for Ellyse.
I pulled out my batman wallet and handed over the money, "Nice wallet" Sophie chuckled as gave me my change and slipped the dress into a bag, "There you go, sir" She handed me the bag and I snatched it out of her hand before shoving my wallet into my pocket and leaving the store.
Andy, Kirsty and I barged through the door laughing about this hilarious old man from work that we met. He was such a character.
"Hello, Mum! Hi, Dad! I'm home!" I yelled as Mum came down the stairs. She walked over to me and gave me a kiss on the cheek before greeting Andy and Kirsty.
"Hello, Kirsty-May" She kissed her on the cheek as well, "Hello, Andy, dear"
"Oh, before I go, there's a surprise in your bedroom" She smirked before Dad followed Mum out the door, "Love you!" She sang before closing the door behind her.
"A surprise, huh?" The girls seemed excited, "I'll race you there" Andy yelled before she took off up the stairs, Kirsty and I not far behind. We skidded round the corner and into my room. I came to a sudden stop in the doorway as I stared at what lay before me on my bed.
I took slow step towards me bed and carefully picked up the note that lay on top of the most beautiful dress as a gorgeous pair of earrings and shoes. I smiled to myself as I thought about tonight, "Michael." I whispered as my smile grew bigger. I squeezed my eyes shut in excitement and clutched onto the note.
I flipped open the note and the girls looked over my shoulder as I read the note aloud:
"If you're reading this then you must have agreed to my invitation to our date tonight.
I've laid out a dress, a pair of shoes and some earrings for you to wear tonight that I've picked out, I'm not giving away the location of the date though, you'll just have to wait for that, babe.
Don't think you have to wear heaps of make up because you still look beautiful without it.
Be ready by 7pm.
7pm?! That's in 2 hours! I better get a move on then.
Thank youuuuu xx
