Nico led me to the beach after we had stopped by his cabin for him to change. When we got to the beach, I had taken off my tee and shoes and was sticking my toes in the water. I could feel Nico's eyes staring at my back. "You wanna swim?" Nico said, coming up behind me. He held out a hand and I took it, he then pulled me up from where I was sitting. I slipped off my shorts and followed him into the water. It was a little cold but I didn't really care. I splashed Nico all the sudden when he wasn't paying attention. "Hey! I'm gonna get you!" He shouted at me. I giggled and swam away. It took him about five minutes to get closer to me. I reached the shore and ran to where my stuff is. I hid underneath my towel and prayed he would leave me alone. "Jayde. I see your feet poking out from underneath your towel." Nico said from beside me. I giggled and curled up, hiding my feet. "Oh well. I guess Jayde left since she's NO WHERE to be found. I guess I'll just leave." He said in a playful tone. I giggled once again and reached out, grabbing his ankle. "Oi!" He yelped in surprise. I'm not sure why but this made me even more giggly. "There's sand sticking to my legs and back and I don't like it." I complained as I stood up. "Well go stand in the water." Nico said smirking. I smiled and dragged him back to the water. We continued to swim for about another 30-ish minutes before I started to get tired. "Nico, when are we heading back?" I asked yawning slightly. "I dunno. Whenever you want to." He replied. I nodded and splashed him in the face. He looked at me, a deadly look in his eyes. "Uh oh." I said, my smile dropping. I was about to swim away when a monster erupted from the water. It was a huge water serpent with blue-green scales and beady red eyes. "ROOOOOAAAARRRRR!!!" It yelled. I cursed. "This is gonna be hard to fight in the water!" I yelled to Nico. I held up my hands and focused my energy to it. "LOOK AWAY!" I yelled to Nico, right before I shot out a ray of light. I hoped he got the message because I knew it was powerful enough to burn the eyes out of someone's skull. The beast wailed and backed up. It's beady red eyes were now replaced with empty black sockets. That was scary. While the beast attempted to recover, I quickly swam to shore and grabbed my sword I had in a bag just in case. I picked it up and threw it like a giant dagger or knife. It impaled the beast's flesh and made it explode into a shower of gold dust. I made my way quickly to Nico to make sure he was fine. He thankfully had looked away when I told him to and could still see. I threw my arms around him, pulling him into a hug when a sudden wave a sleepiness washed over me. I clung onto Nico, afraid I wouldn't have the energy to swim. "Wow. That really took the juice outta ya didn't it?" He asked, wrapping his arms around the small of my back to help support me. I smiled and nodded, placing my head against his bare chest. I could hear his heartbeat speed up slightly when I did so, which caused me to smile. I looked up and suddenly my world slowed down as his face was just centimeters from mine. My breath hitched, and I looked into his eyes. A small smirk was on his lips as he leaned in closer, eventually sealing the gap between the two of us. His lips were surprisingly warm and very soft. I smiled into the warm kiss. Nico eventually pulled away after only a few seconds. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that." He mumbled, then attempted to swim away from me. I grabbed his wrist and pulled him back to me with what energy I had left. "It's okay Nico. I like you." I said softly, looking into his dark eyes. He smiled and pulled me into a tight hug. "I like you too." He said as he pulled away. "Jayde, would you like to be my-" I cut him off short with a sweet, small kiss. "Yes." Was all I said in response before we headed back to the shore.
