With quick steps I ran back to my room and when I arrived, I shut the door. I couldn't believe that Mandy was able to destroy so much with a simple message. I sat down on my bed and tore my hair.
Of course I could understand her disappointment, but still... I wish I could phone her and call her every name, which went through my head, but I didn't want to go down to her level. The most important thing was that nothing stood between me and Melody now. It hadn't even crossed my mind that she could be so hurt... because of something I would never do.
I took my phone, opened Twitter and wrote, "Finally back to Hawaii! In love with the sun, the environment and my travel companion x" seconds later I already had tons of retweets, favorites and answers. I smiled at all the comments and then switched to music.
After the first few bars I noticed which song was played; it was "Love The Way You Lie" by Eminem and Rihanna.
I closed my eyes and let myself fall backwards onto the bed. After a few lines, I began to sing.
"Now I know we said things, did things that we didn't mean and we fall back into the same patterns, same routine. But your temper's just as bad as mine is, you're the same as me, but when it comes to love you're just as blinded. Baby please come back, it wasn't you, baby it was me. Maybe our relationship isn't as crazy as it seems… Maybe that's what happens when a tornado meets a volcano. All I know is I love you too much to walk away though…"
I stopped singing as a high tone sounded and the door opened. I quickly sat up and turned off the music.
Melody came softly into the room and closed the door behind her. For a few seconds she remained with her hand on the doorknob before she turned around.
"Hi," she said, and smiled slightly.
"Hi," I said now too and smiled back. I noticed that she hadn't cried, which made me pretty happy. She shouldn't shed tears over me...
"I- I..." she began, but her sentence found no end.
Slowly she came walking up to my bed and sat in front of me. One leg she had pulled to her, the other was hanging down loosely. She looked at her fingers, while I sat cross-legged beside her and tried to make sense of it.
The curiosity was burning through my veins, I couldn't stand the silence in our room, but I couldn't change it.
Finally she looked up and me straight in the eyes.
"Hi," she said again and I had to laugh. She smiled at me apologetically and then bit her lower lip.
"Hi," I said, scratching the back of my neck.
"It- it really hurt to read the words and to believe that they would come from you," she began, finally, and I nodded. "I really have believed they were yours for such a long time... This of course has helped my attempts to get over you. But somehow I never made it."
I licked my lips and quickly nodded again. What she said now was so damn important.
"Everything what I have said and did today was all controlled from the injured part. I wanted to hurt you just like you had hurt me... Even though I couldn't be sure if you were still feeling something for me. And now... now it's just gone." She laughed lightly and frowned.
"It's a strange feeling, you know. All the time I assumed that you are already over me and now... now you're telling me that you never were."
I smiled slightly and the worried lines on her forehead smoothed again.
"I still can't believe all the things that happened today… I think I have to sleep on it for a night," she said, and sighed.
"Okay," I said, nodding. "The whole day was pretty exhausting. After all the drama we had, we totally earned us a break, right?"
She nodded and I could practically see the facilitation in her eyes.
"Good," she said, standing up. "Then I'll go first into the bathroom."
I nodded, smiled at her and she disappeared into the adjoining room. As the door closed, I clapped my hands and crossed my fingers then directly over each other.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you," I said, looking up at the ceiling. With a sigh of relief, I let myself fall back on my back and took my phone back into my hand.
"I know we said things, did things that we didn't mean. maybe our relationship isn't as crazy as it seems..." I tweeted and put my phone away. Although the day had started very complicated, it ended very well.
The next day I woke up very early and decided to go jogging. The preheated air let us know that the day would be very hot again and I enjoyed the sea breeze. I met a few other joggers and received flyers of Club openings and private parties. I was finally back into the mood of liking the idea to party; it felt like ages since that last happened. When I came back to our room Melody was awake and typed something on her cell phone.
"Good morning," I greeted her and she smiled at me.
"Good Morning. What have you got there?" she asked and I gave her the flyers.
"I'm going to take a quick shower," I said shortly, grabbed some clothes and disappeared into the bathroom.
After a hot, short shower, I was dressed again and tugged at my hair. Eventually I gave up and left the bathroom. I threw my worn clothes in my empty suitcase and just as I wanted to take my phone, Melody began to speak.
"I think we should go to such a party," she said, and I glanced at her. I smiled and nodded.
"Sure, we'll do it. How about if we go first to the opening and then to one of the smaller parties?"
"Good idea," she said, and her smile widened. My phone suddenly started ringing and I grabbed it.
"Hello?" I answered it.
"Is this Justin Bieber?" someone asked me.
"Yeah. Who's there?" I asked, furrowing my brows.
"Hey, I'm Kev Nish of Far East Movement. We want you as a feature to our new song. Scooter gave me your number and said it would be your decision. So what do you say?" he said.
I immediately smiled broadly and said, "Sure, I'd like to join you!"
"Excellent. Then I'll talk about the details with Scooter. We'll call you again," Kev said and we said goodbye.
I hung up, put my phone away and then looked at Mel. She smiled at me curious, so I explained it to her quickly.
"Wow, that's great!" she said, jumping up and hugged me.
I was surprised by her touch, but quickly put my arms around her. It was an indescribable feeling to have her so close to me after I had to wait for this moment for so long. But the moment passed far too quickly, as she pulled away and looked at me apologetically.
"I'm sorry, that was kind of... too spontaneous," she said and I laughed. "Congratulations again," Melody added and I realized how uncomfortable she felt.
"Did you buy everything for Christmas?" I changed the subject and she opened her eyes and clasped her hands in front of her mouth.
"Shit! It's tomorrow, right?"
"Damn It! I always forget such important things, because I'm get so easily distracted!"
I chuckled and said, "I totally know this feeling. We could, um, so only if you want, we could go shopping later?"
Melody shrugged, then nodded and said, "Sure. I just want to get dressed first."
I nodded and within seconds she had disappeared into the bathroom. While she was dressing up, I studied the flyers and finally decided to go for a party in a big beach house. The party should somehow belong to the club opening, I just didn't understood the relation. The house should belong to the club owners and everyone who was previously at the opening were free to enter and got a free drink...
As the bathroom door opened, I was torn from my thoughts and looked up. Melody entered our room in a blue dress and flip flops and it was... wow, breathtaking.
She looked at me with her incomparable smile and asked, "So what do you think? Do you like it?"
I swallowed hard and nodded.
"You're beautiful," I said and she smiled at me.
"Thank you," she said, and laid aside her other stuff, grabbed her cell phone from the bed and put it in her purse. "Shall we?"
I nodded again and together we left the hotel room.
No sooner had we arrived in the lobby, I could already hear my name called by the paparazzi.
"Shit," I said, stopped and turned to Melody. "We have to get out of here. Fast."
She looked at me quizzically and was about to say something when the paparazzi came from around the corner and began to ask questions.
"Justin! What is the real reason why you and Selena have broken up?"
"What is the real reason why you have broken up with Mandy?"
"Who is the girl next to you?"
"Is she the reason?"
I quickly said, "No comment!" grabbed Mel's hand and ran with her to the front desk. "Your number one car, please."
The woman nodded, pressed a button and then gave me a sheet to sign. I signed quickly, pressed Mel's hand, which caused a tingling in me, and ran with her to the exit, where the rental car was waiting for us.
Hours later, we arrived with full bags and laughing back at the hotel. We had get along very well at that day. Melody and I had breakfast, went to various shops and were finally briefly at the beach. I was so happy and boisterous in a long time, so I wanted to ask her. Absolutely. I just had to.
When we arrived in our room, she put exhausted her bags down and brushed the hair from her face.
"I think I'm going to Harry. After everything that happened yesterday..." she said and left the sentence open while she went to the door.
Now or Never.
I ran to the door and stood in front of it.
"Wait!" I said. "I- I need to ask you something."
She smiled at me with a frown and said, "Okay, what should I tell him?"
I laughed and shook my head.
"It's just... I'm just wondering if... Do you want to go out with me?"
Speechless, I stood in front of Justin. I didn't know what to say. So I just blinked.
He looked at me pleadingly and said, "Please, give me a second chance. I know we didn't have a good start, but... I want us to have a real date. You know how much I like you and..."
He looked deep into my eyes and took my hands in his. And what did I do? I blinked again.
Slowly, he lowered his eyes and let my hands go.
"Oh, so if it's so... I just thought, um, because we are now closer again and we talked about everything and... Oh, forget it."
He wanted to go, but I stopped him. "I would love to go out with you tonight."
He quickly looked up and asked, with his irresistible smile, "Really?"
I smiled and nodded.
"Wow! I, um, great!"
We briefly smiled at each other and Justin stepped away from the door and opened it for me.
"Say hello to Harry."
I nodded and walked out the door. A few meters further on my phone vibrated. It was a message.
Be ready at 8. I'm looking forward to it. Jus :)
I turned around and saw him still standing in the doorway.
I grinned and said "I will, don't worry."
He smiled broadly and closed the door. I turned around and my smile grew wider.
A few hours later I came back to our room. Justin wasn't there, I found only a piece of paper. "Went off to make it unforgettable xx" was written down and I had to smile.
I went to my suitcase and suddenly I really didn't know what to where. Nothing seemed good enough for him. I knew that this problem couldn't be compared with those we had previously all the time, but Justin seemed to put a lot of effort on our date and I wanted that at least my outfit didn't disappoint him. I rummaged through the entire contents of my suitcase, until I was able to narrow the choice of clothing. But for the rest of choice I needed help, so I wrote each of the girls who had come with us on this trip a message.
Everyone, except for Caitlin.
I also thought about to text Harry, but I knew that Matt was with him, so I let go of this idea.
A few minutes later my phone vibrated and it was only a message with the words "knock, knock". I smiled and went to the door to open it. Standing in front of it were Candice, Lauren and Melara. Candice had a bottle of champagne in one of her hands and Lauren and Mel carried glasses, while Candice put her cell phone back into her pocket. They looked at me smiling and I let them in quickly.
"I cannot believe you finally go out together!" Lauren said, as I had turned around to them. I laughed and shrugged my shoulders.
"It's about time," Melara agreed and I smiled at her.
My girlfriends sat down on Justin's bed and Candice opened the bottle. She poured the contents evenly into the glasses and Mel handed one to me. We clinked glasses and I took a deep swig. I hadn't have a drink since the farewell party and I could feel already few seconds later, that heat was making its way trough my body.
I quickly put the glass down and asked, "Okay, are you ready for a little private fashion show?"
They laughed and nodded and I went to the bathroom to try on the first dress.
The time passed quickly thereafter. I tried on the different clothes and everyone gave a quick comment before we had to opt for a dress.
"So I liked all of the outfits..." Candice said.
Mel nodded. "Yeah, me too, but especially the First and Fifth."
I looked at the clothes she talked about. The first dress was a pink one with spaghetti straps and a large loop. Number five was a champagne-colored dress with a heart cutout.
Lauren shook her head, "Nah, number two and three are the best!"
Candice thought long and then said, "I agree with Lauren."
Lauren lifted her hand and they made a High Five.
I took a sip from my glass, and then looked at the clothes. Dress number two was black, ruffled and had a belt at the waist. The third dress consisted of blue lace, no straps and also had a belt.
Then I said, "I also like the second dress most..."
I put down my glass and picked up the dress again. I turned around and held it in front of me and looked in the mirror. Slowly I turned first to the right, then to the left. Then I turned back to the girls. Mel watched me a long time and then gave up.
"Yeah, okay! The dress is seriously really hot. Especially that part is cut out from the back. Super sexy!"
They all nodded and I had to smile.
"Okay, then I found my dress."
I disappeared into the bathroom again and for the last time. I changed my clothes, put on the right make-up and curled my hair with a curling iron. When I came out of the bathroom again, the girls had a lively talk and were laughing. I cleared my throat and all three heads turned around at one time. Their eyes widened and Mel clapped delighted in her hands again.
Candice laughed and said, "Just one word: Beautiful!"
"Justin won't be able to hold back when he sees you like that," Mel said and I laughed while Lauren shook her head.
They came up to me and hugged me all at once. I laughed and hugged them back. Then again Lauren poured into each glass of champagne.
She raised her glass and said, "To Melody and her Justin!"
I laughed shyly and felt myself blushing, while the others raised their glasses and said, "To Melody and her Justin!"
I raised my glass and drank another deep swig.
Then Lauren put her glass down and looked at me, laughing. I pulled together my eyebrows and looked at her questioningly.
Lauren laughed and said, "You know what's coming..."
First I furrowed my brows, but then my eyes tore open. I actually knew what was coming now. We had seen in a movie this ages ago and we vowed to each other that we would do this when the time was right.
"Oh, hell no! Come on, Laury. This is absolutely not necessary!"
Mel and Candice looked at us questioningly, but Lauren laughed again.
"Oh, hell yeah!"
I rolled my eyes as she made her some room and then said, "Time for my you-were-together-with-a -Loser-dance!"
She turned once around herself and then began to dance while she repeated continuously "You were with a loser, you were with a loser..."
I blushed, folded my arms, defiantly pushed out my lower lip and said, "Dan wasn't a loser."
Lauren paused and then said slowly, "Maybe not, but an ass."
I had to laugh and said, "I guess you're right."
Then I looked at my phone. "What, only ten minutes left?"
I looked up again and Mel collected the glasses and stopped, when she discovered Justin's message. She read aloud "Went off to make it unforgettable xx... Aw, that's so cute!" Then she pushed her lower lip unhappy. "Chris never does something special for me..."
"I'm sure he will," Candice said with a wink.
"Hopefully." Mel laughed briefly and then hugged me quickly.
My heart was beating faster again with excitement when she had Justin's words read out aloud. I quickly drank the last sip from my glass and gave it to Mel. I hugged Candice and Lauren and then opened them my door. Laughing, they ran out of my room and ran away, but then I remembered something.
"Lauren?" I asked and my sister turned to me.
"Yes?" she asked, signaling our friends that they should go on without her while she thus went back a few steps to me.
"I was just wondering if you've heard anything from Zayn again?" I asked and her smile faltered.
"We have talked yesterday, so... no. But I'm sure he's fine." She glanced at her cell phone and then looked at me again. "Chaz and I are going to have dinner in half an hour, so I should get ready now..."
"Laury, I don't know if-," I began, but she didn't let me finish. She lifted a hand and shook her head.
"It- it's okay. Don't you worry about me. You should think about Justin right now," she said and smiled at me before she turned and ran away.
I sighed and went back to my room. I closed the door and leaned back against it.
My heart was racing, now that she had mentioned his name.
Time passed and soon my phone vibrated again. I picked it up and saw that Justin had called me. I put my phone in my pocket quickly, took a deep breath, and then opened the door.
I took a deep breath and put my phone away. While I still was busy with my pocket, the door was opened. My eyes slid over her legs up to her face and I wasn't able to find the right expression.
"Wow," was the only thing I could say.
"You too," Melody said and looked at me nervously.
And then it blurted out, "I just have to say it: you're looking incredibly hot!"
She blushed slightly and smiled coyly.
I grinned and held my arm out so she could take it and said, "Shall we?"
She nodded and took it. Together we walked down the hall to the rental car.
In the car I just couldn't stop my eyes from gliding over her again and again. I thought that I would do it quietly, but her grin grew wider and she began to throw glances at me.
After some time, she asked, "Where we go out at all?"
I laughed, looked at her and said, "This is a surprise."
"I hate surprises and you know it. Do you want to watch me suffer?"
I rolled my eyes, laughed again and said, "Oh, come on, we're almost there."
Melody crossed her arms, "Hm."
I could see practically how her grin widened as she got an idea.
She turned with her upper body to me now and said, "Then I got a surprise for you. But this one waits at home."
This time I stopped laughing and furrowed my brows.
"We'll be home in less than a week," I said thoughtfully, thinking about what my surprise could be.
She mocked me and said, "Oh, come on, we're almost there."
I couldn't resist to smile and when we arrived at a red light, I looked at Melody, prop a hand next to her and said, word for word, "That's nasty."
But I knew what would surely elicit her response. So I made the puppy dog eyes and looked at her very sad.
"Aw..." she said, biting her lip and leaned over to kiss my cheek. "Well, I am sorry, because then you probably have to wait, unfortunately."
"Damn," I muttered and sat back and she laughed.
The touch of her lips on my cheek burned and even though I just hated surprises like she did, I couldn't stop smiling.
