15. Secret Wedding

Nope, we didn't die. But I lost scores of friends that were Jedi...oh yeah, and my hand. My writing hand, dammit!

In the end, not even Yoda had been able to stop Dooku from fleeing into space, or stop the Clone Wars from starting.

Bacta treatment had mended both my wounds and Obi-Wan's, although not even that powerful healing thingamabob could regrow my arm. I would have to make do with a mechanical replacement. It'd be harder to write with it though, but at least I have one.

BTW Obi-Wan told me that he had caught me doing stuff on Tatooine. I told him my mom had died and that's why we went. Padme told him she'd been kidnapped and killed by Tusken Raiders. Neither one of us were willing to tell him much more.

Seriously, I couldn't think of any place better to have our secret wedding. Padme was wearing a white gown with flowered trim and I was wearing my black Jedi robes. In his presence, we pledged our lives to each other, no matter what the cost. With C-3PO and R2-D2 as our only witnesses, we were married.

I have no idea how long we can keep this a secret, but I don't care. She's mine. At last, this beloved angel is mine. It was truly a dream come true. And today made me think all my troubles were behind me.

Little did I know what lied ahead...
