"Calum," I heard someone whisper.
"Calum," they said again shaking me a little this time.
I groaned and rolled over, pulling the sheets over my head.
"Calum," they repeated more sternly.
I just groaned and moved around more. They slapped my arm.
"Oww," I yelped.
I finally sat up. Oh hey, it was that chick from last night. Josie?
"I'm leaving," she said getting off the bed.
"Why'd you have to wake me up for that?"
"Because we need to get our stories straight. My name isn't really Josie and I don't think you should tell anyone about last night."
"What? Why? What's your name then!?"
"It doesn't matter. Just don't tell anyone okay? I need to leave before someone sees me."
She looked out the window for a bit. I used the time to sneak up behind her and push her to the wall.
"You can't go until you tell me your name and who you're trying to hide from," I said pinning her arms down on the wall.
"Calum let go! I won't tell you!!"
She tried to squirm away but it was no use.
"Who are you so afraid of!?"
"Charlotte…" she said, voice cracking.
"Why," I asked.
"Because," she sighed,"I don't think she would be very happy to hear that her best friend slept with they guy she's been crushing on."
I let her go and sat down on the bed.
"Yeah I wouldn't worry about that. She seemed perfectly fine with doing that to me."
"She slept with someone else!! She would never!!" she gasped.
"Well I guess she decided that she wanted to go ruining lives so…"
"Is it normal to feel like this?" I continued.
"Well... I don't know. Broken? Like the whole world is slowly starting to crumble away. I mean I'm just exaggerating right!? I know I am but it feels like this whole big thing"
"Calum," she sighed taking a seat next to me on the bed,"I don't know what happened last night but I know you two will get over it. Charlotte is literally the most forgiving person I've met but don't push it. It may feel like the world is crashing down but it isn't. Charlotte really likes you, she never admits it to herself, but she does. And she'll come around. You just have to wait for a bit. Things will get better, I promise."
I sat quietly for a while trying to take in what she said. Was she right? I don't know I just didn't want anymore drama.
"Thank you," I said looking up at her.
It was quiet for a bit.
"I think I should get going..." She said heading towards the door.
"Wait I never got your name... Your real name."
"Talia, it's Talia."
"Bye Talia. And thank you again, I-I really needed that."
"Yeah you're welcome," she smiled,"bye."
And with that she was gone.
I woke up with the sun in my face. Where the fuck was I? I opened my eyes wider and realized i was in my car at the beach.
"Well last night must've gone great!" I said to myself sarcastically.
What did happ- oh, that's right... Ashton and Calum. I wonder if he was okay… I mean, can't go back now. I am so not ready to talk to them. I know I have to but I don't want to. I got my phone out and checked the time, it read 3:34pm. I had a couple missed calls from Luke and one from Ashton.
"Nope," I whispered as I put the keys in the ignition.
I was starving. I drove to the nearest liquor store and bought some food. Thank god I kept spare money in my glove compartment! I refiled on gas and drove away to an unknown destination.
I had called Charlotte so many times even I was starting to get annoyed.
"Hi it's Charlotte. I can't answer the phone right now. I'll call you back later I promise! Sorry, Bye!"
I groaned. Even her voicemail was starting to become annoying. Why won't she pick up. After what Ashton told me about last night it sounded like she was really upset. I hope she didn't get herself into any trouble.
Okay it was now 5:45pm. I had stopped a couple times to get gas and such. I had gotten so many calls from Luke it was ridiculous.
You know what I can't hid from them forever.
Ugh fuck it.
"Hello," I said into the phone.
"CHARLOTTE WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU!?? YOU HAVENT ANSWERED ANY OF MY CALLS AND IVE BEEN SO WORRIED!! ARE YOU OKAY!? WHERE ARE YOU?!? OH MY GOD IM YELLING SORRY!"
"Where the fuck are you!?"
I looked for a street sign somewhere but I couldn't read anything clearly.
"Ugh I don't know where I am I haven't been looking."
"Whatever just pull over at some store or something I'll find you."
"You don't know where I am Luke and neither do I!"
"Do you have a GPS?," he asked.
"I just… I don't want to go home okay? I'm not ready."
"Where are you going to stay then?"
"I don't know I'll figure it out, I always do."
"Good luck I guess, bye"
Wow, that was easier than I thought.
