10. Leaving Early

Luke's POV

Michael and I had a tradition of staying home all day on Fridays. It started a couple months ago and it stayed. Today Calum and Ashton we're going clubbing so we had the house to ourselves.

"Fuck," Michael yelled.

He got hit by a car in Gta.

"You suck it's my turn now," I laughed getting the controller from his hands.

"Let me show you how the master does it," I said wiggling my eyebrows.

We had been taking turns on playing and seeing who lasts the longest alive. Before I could re-start the game I heard a knock on our back door.

"What the fuck," I mouthed to Michael getting up quietly.

He shrugged. I tiptoed to the back door and peaked out the window. It was Charlotte, she looked troubled.

"Hey," I said opening the door.

"Can I come in," she asked looking behind me.

"Uhh, sure," I replied standing back so that she could walk in.

"What are you doing here exactly," I asked trying not to sound rude.

She shrugged,"I don't know I got bored."

"Hey Char," Michael beamed as he walked into the back room.

"Hello," she chirped.  It got silent, awkwardly silent. It lasted for what seemed like forever.

Then Michael spoke,"uhmm do you wanna play Gta with us."

Charlotte looked like she was about to explode with happiness.

"What the hell you play," I asked  "Fuck yeah. It's my favorite game."

"Let's go then," Michael said leading us towards the living room.

Charlotte's POV

It took a lot to get over here. I jumped the fence and went through the back instead of knocking on the front. I don't know why I chose the harder route I just felt adventurous. Thank god all I was wearing was a band tee and some skinny jeans. I couldn't imagine getting over the fence in my work khakis, they were way too baggy on me; I probably would've gotten it caught somewhere and fallen on my face.

We were now playing Call of Duty on the couch, I was sitting in between Michael and Luke.

"I want to sit on the floor," Luke randomly commented pausing the game.

"Bro," Michael and I both complained.

Luke flopped off the couch and onto the floor.

"Can I sit here," he asked pointing at an area near my feet.

Next thing I knew he was sitting on the floor in between my legs. It was weird at first but I went with it.

A while later my player died and I had nothing to do. I was subconsciously playing with Luke's quiff. I didn't notice until he pulled my hands off his head so that he could turn to look at me.

"Hi," he chirped giving me an awkward smile.

"Hello Luke," I said trying to do my best Australian accent.

Michael and Luke burst out laughing.

Michael shook his head,"that was awful."

"Never try that again," Luke added.

"Was it really that bad," I asked.

"Yes," they replied in unison.

Well at least I tried, I knew I would start to pick up an accent sooner or later.

"Do you guys want to go to the liquor store and buy food and stuff," Michael asked standing up.

"I'll go," I volunteered.

"Can I go too? I don't want to be alone," Luke frowned.

"No you can't you're not cool enough," Michael sassed sticking his tongue out.

Before we walked out Michael threw a sweater at me and told me to put it on. I did as I was told and it was all big and comfy and it smelled like dude. It was a black sweater with the Misfits skull on it. I was never going to give this thing back it was too precious.

Michael's POV

"Charlotte, tell me about yourself."

We had decided to walk to the liquor store. The first few minutes had been nothing but dead silence.

"Tell me about yourself," I repeated.

"Oh well uhh," Charlotte struggled to find the right words, or to find any words really.

"I am a girl."

"I can see that...Come on Charls there has to be something more," I pleaded.

"What do you want to know anyway," she asked raising an eyebrow.

"Tell me about your hair or your opinion on gay marriage, anything," I explained.

"My hair? Well I've been wanting to cut it for a while. Like short-short." It was silent for a minute.

"Do it it'll look nice."

"What? Really?"

"Sure. I mean, yeah."

"I was just kidding but hey? Why not?"

We got to the liquor store and bought everything from Twinkies to Vodka. We split the cost and walked home. Along the way we talked about everything from aliens to family. I learned a lot about Michael.

Charlotte's POV

"Hi Lukey," I yelled upon walking into the house.

I don't think he even heard me, he was so caught up on all the food we brought.

It was now  1:48am. Luke, Michael, and I had been playing video games, eating and drinking the whole night.

"When are Cal and Ash coming back," I asked.

They just shrugged and continued playing FIFA. Next, it was as if all my prayers had been answered. Calum tumbled into the room form the front door. Then, Ashton barged in but he wasn't alone. He was hardcore making out with some chick. They tried going up stairs with their faces attached but failed. The lady had already started unbuttoning Ashton's shirt. They stopped for a bit and ran upstairs and slammed the door to what I assume was Ashton's room. The living room got awkwardly quiet afterwards.

"Wow," said Michael breaking the silence.

"They've been like that all night," Calum complained falling back onto the couch and putting his head in his hands.

"You want to play," Luke asked handing him a controller.

Calum just smirked and took it out of his hand. I tried getting back to my seat which was where Calum was now sitting.

"Bro let me sit," I said making Calum scoot closer to Luke.

I squished in between Michael and Calum.

I watched them play FIFA until it was around  3:30am then I decided that it was time to go and I headed home. I hope I could wake up before  2:00pm, I needed time to get things ready for the party.
