The Orphans.

Well, there's Rose, the kind hearted peacemaker who's been at the orphanage forever. Then there's Serenity, the new girl at the orphanage with a big spirit and daring attitude. And last there's Marcy, the mysterious bad girl just wanting to know her parents. All the orphans do, but when the orphanage is in danger of closing, Serena, Rose, and Marcy must work together to save the only place they ever called home. Author's note: Ariel Cameroe wrote Marcie's chapts., Labellabean wrote Rose's chapts., and Katie Pip wrote Serenity's chapts.

6. Serenity's P.O.V

I walked into my new orphanage clutching the small bag that held my few possessions. The principle seemed overly friendly, and all I wanted to do was explore the place myself. But she insisted on showing us around.

"And here are the rooms. The capacity is three people per room." Mrs. Price said with her fake smile. Her hair was a dyed bleach blonde, and I could tell she has had plenty of plastic surgeries in her days. Her eyes were a shocking electric blue. She reminded me of an old barbie doll.

"Tell me about yourselves, Serenity what do you like to do?" She asked

"I like hunting." I said bluntly. Our gym teacher would always let us control the class on our birthdays. On mine, I would always choose hunting. I became quite good at it. Mrs Price's face turned pale;

"You mean, like, killing things?" She asked, clearly disgusted.

"And eating them." Serenity added just to disgust her more.

"Ok, moving right along." The principle choked out.

I was altogether dreading lunch time. I picked up one of their Styrofoam trays. Other orphans bumped into me and I was being pushed around. No one bothered to ask me my name. When I finally got my blackened food. I surveyed the lunch room. I saw a table full of giggling girls, whispering things in each others ear.

Gossips? No.

I saw a table full of kids with their noses stuck in books.

Brainiac's? Uh-uh.

I saw a table of guys, flexing their muscles and spinning basketballs.

Jocks? I may like sports but, I'll pass.

I finally see a table containing two girls. One has red hair and seems to be talking the most. The other has curly dark hair, who seems to be pretending to listen, but not really. I decided to take a shot at it, since there are no other empty tables. I correct my posture, and stride over to the table.

"-I don't know if we are playing hockey, or baseball in gym. I prefer hockey, since baseball is kinda slow." I heard the red head chatter before I asked;

"Um, can I sit here?"

The red head's smile seemed to take up half her face. She looked ecstatic as though I just offered her a billion dollars.

"Of course! Are you the new girl? I'm Rose, this is Marcie. What's your name?" She beamed.

I sat down. "I'm Serenity, but you can call me Serena." I said. Rose opened her mouth to say something but was cut off by Marcie.

"Serenity? Isn't that a feeling?" She asked, disgusted.

"I don't know, isn't Marcie a character in Charlie Brown?" I asked.

"Excuse me?" She said.

"Yeah! Your Peppermint Patty's best friend!" I said with glee.

"I already don't like you." Marcie retorted.

"Ugh, don't mind Marcie." Rose said to me. "She likes to speak her opinion."

I was reassured with Rose as my friend. And Marcie as my...sorta friend. That I would have a better time at this orphanage than I thought.
