Before He Was Famous

Ariana just moved to Australia and she knows nobody. She will have to make new friends in school, and she'd never guess Luke would be one. He was sweet, innocent, and adorable. But once his music starts to get recognized and he starts a band, will they stay friends? With Luke becoming busy, can she stay his best friend if he's not always there for her?

3. Moving Day

Ariana's POV:

"GET UP! We're going to be late for our plane!" My little brother, Alex, was yelling while jumping all over my sheet-less bed. Why is my bed sheet-less? I'm moving today. All I had was a little blanket full of penguins. They were my second favorite animal, next to giraffes.

"Okay I'm getting up! When do we leave?"

"10 minutes." and with those words I jumped out of bed and got ready to look somewhat decent when I landed in Australia. I just put on a big white sweater with black skinny jeans and vans. My dirty blonde hair was just put in a messy bun.

"You look ready. Hurry up and get in the car, we're going to be late!" my mom announced and I ran out with my blanket and phone in hand.

This was the last of California I was going to see. Well, for all I know it was. The endless road of palm trees ran across my eyes for one of the last times. Do they have palm trees in Australia? I bet not. At least they have a beach. That's all I really need there. They've always kept me away from the bad things in the world.

"Stop day dreaming, were at the airport!" my brother was poking me to get out of the car.

"I'm getting out!" I laughed. It seemed like everybody was just trying to get me out of places today.

"The flights going to be long, do you want some food or a magazine?" my dad asked me as I was looking off into the direction of the books.

"Oh, no, thanks though. I think I'll just listen to music and sleep." I smiled and he went back to where he was sitting, waiting for the plane.

It seemed like years waiting for our plane to start boarding, but they finally did. I sat at the window with my brother and dad. My mom sat in the seat across from us with two other strangers.

"Wake me up when we're in Australia." I said and got ready for hours to come.

"Hey! Wake up! We're here!" my dad shook me awake. I noticed the plane was almost empty and my mom and brother were waiting for us outside.

"Did you have to get a job transfer dad?" I joked and rubbed my eyes.

"You'll love it here Ariana." he smiled and tried to make me feel better, but school starts on Monday and I'm more nervous then ever.

The car ride felt fast compared to the never ending plane ride here. We arrived in our neighborhood, which didn't look bad at all. We pulled up to a somewhat fancy house, which is not like what we lived in at our old house.

"This house is beautiful! I can't believe you got everything unpacked here too!" I said and jumped out the car to see our new home.

"You're gonna love this too- we live a walking distance from the beach!" my mom said and I was never happier to live here now. Maybe it wasn't going to be that bad after all.

I walked into my room, a nice purple- not too dark but not too light, and plopped onto my white and black sheets printed with places around the world. I've always wanted to travel places, just not move there. I decided to pull out my laptop and talk to my friends all the way in California.

"You guys don't know how much I already miss you! It's nice here though." I said to my friends Jess and Lilly.

"Its funny thinking it's already tomorrow over there." they tried to make the situation better.

"Yeah, I guess. Well, I have to go eat dinner. Bye!" I said and closed my computer. I walked down the stairs to the smell of pizza.

"Pizza mom? On our first day here? What a great way to celebrate." I laughed and grabbed a plate.

"Hey, pizza is your favorite." she joked back. She wasn't wrong.

"Excited for school Monday, kids?" my dad asked me and my brother. We both looked at each other and yelled "NO!" in sync.

"Well, I would be scared too." my dad said.

"Dad, you're not a teenage girl! You don't get how scary this is. Alex has it easy, nobody in the 2nd grade cares about who you are." I joked but my dad just kept eating.

"Hey! I'm scared too!" Alex tried to sound serious.

"Nice try bud." I smiled and finished my dinner.

"I was a teenage girl you know, I know how you feel-"

"No, mom, please don't try to lecture me that you felt the same way." I smiled and ran back upstairs to my room and escaped in the world of music.

Maybe she's right, how bad can school be on Monday?
