"Hello, Ariana." Liz said and welcomed me into their house.
"Luke should be down soon.. I don't know what's taking him so long." she said.
"It's alright, I was early anyways." I smiled and we waited for Luke. As we were waiting we chatted until finally Luke made his way down the stairs.
"Sorry I'm a little late.." he said, fixing his clothes on his way down.
"Since you made us wait so long to look that handsome, we're going to take some pictures!" Liz said and grabbed her camera.
"Oh my gosh, mom! It's a date for ice cream not prom." Luke laughed as we got ready for the picture.
"Let's get out of here, it's too EMBARRASSING." He emphasized the last part so his mom would hear him.
He grabbed my hand and we left his house. We made our way to a little ice cream place near Sydney.
His phone suddenly started to ring.
"Hello? Michael, I told you I'm on a date! Wait, what? Really! That's great! Okay..see you tomorrow." he ended the call and picked me up in a hug. I hugged right back, but I was a bit startled.
"Why so happy?" I laughed, questioning him.
"Well Michael found a drummer for us, Ashton, and we're gonna get together and practice. We might even do a few gigs if people start to notice us!" he glowed with happiness and I can't remember him not smiling after that moment.
"Well this is a nice place- HOLY GIRAFFES!" I shrieked.
"Holy giraffes?" he chuckled and came up behind me.
"Yes! Look at all the flavors." I said, gluing my eyes to the endless row of flavors.
"Help me choose? I need recommendations!" I said, still keeping my eyes on the colors.
"Okay.. get the yellow one, because giraffes are yellow." he joked.
"Fine, but only if you get the black and white one, penguin boy." I said. We were practically setting up dares for each other.
"Deal." he said and we bought the oddly colored ice cream.
"This looks.. delicious.." I said, sticking my spoon into the yellow ice cream.
"Yeah.. the black and white doesn't look bad at all." Luke said and started to eat his.
"Well, that's not half bad!" he smiled and started to eat more.
"Start eating yours! Or are you too scared?" he evilly laughed.
"I'm not scared. I'll eat it." I said and put the spoon in my mouth. I almost threw up right there.
"Sorry about that. Here, share with me." Luke smiled and put his ice cream in the middle.
"We're never doing that again." I laughed. He agreed and we chatted about nonsense for the rest of the time.
"Where do you wanna go now?" he asked me.
"I really don't know anything about here. Where do you think we should go?" I asked. It's true, I don't know about anything around here.
"I know this really peaceful place where we could look at the stars or something." he said. I realized it was getting dark, and the sun was setting.
"Okay, lead the way."
He lead me to a nice lake with grass hills around. The city wasn't far from here, which was peaceful hearing the sounds form a distance.
"Luke! It's so nice here." I said and plopped onto the fluffy grass.
"I go here to run away, like you with the beach. We can call this place ours." he said. It was so perfect, it was cheesy. The sparkling waters, the stars above us. I swear my life is a movie.
We laid down on the grass in silence, watching the stars that were towering over us. As I was about to say something, I heard small snores from the boy next to me. Luke was sleeping.
I shook him, trying to get him awake. He finally woke up, looking around.
"Sorry! It was so peaceful I fell asleep."
"It's okay, your little snores were definitely worth it." I laughed and laid back down.
"Maybe we should head back, it's getting late. My mom will get worried." he said and I agreed while I stood up with him.
"Today was fun, as it always is when I'm with you." I said and we made our way back home.
"My moms not answering.. is it alright if I stay for the night?" I didn't want it to sound weird.
"Of course! As long as you two.. don't.. do.."
"Ok, mom, we won't!"
"In that case, you're fine to stay!" we laughed and he showed me the guest room.
"Wanna watch some cartoons before bed? I mean, we are kids." he laughed and I followed him down the stairs.
We watched some SpongeBob but that was about it. About 5 episodes later, I heard those little snores escape Luke's mouth again. I decided it was a video opportunity, so we can laugh in the morning.
Instead of waking him up, I continued to watch cartoons. But before I knew it, I was sound asleep on the couch, next to Luke.
