A Poem a Day

During the year 2015 I have chosen to take on a challenge to write a poem everyday. I will try to put them all here everyday.

161. June 10th

It can turn mountains upside down,

Carve valleys into landscapes.

It houses hundreds and thousands of animals,

And provides food and water for many cities.

A river reflects landscapes in its glass like surface,

It erodes rock and carves it out like a chisel carves wood.

It is the habitat for fresh water fish,

Whole cities depend on it for water and aquatic animals.

Rivers are powerful and important to us,

They can do far more than we think.

They have the power to kill people,

But also the power to keep them alive.
