Smooth as silk, shiny as silver,
Hard as steel and cold as ice.
Brittle like pottery, yet strong as marble,
These small pebbles that lies on the beach.
Though varying in colour, size and shape,
They are all here next to me.
These rocks are different, but all the same.
Many parts make up one beach.
Their differences do not matter,
And why should they.
For surely though diverse they are one and the same,
But why can we not see that?
