But you know, it’s life.
And sometimes life sucks.
I still strongly intensely dislike Sirius Black, even though he is trying his hardest to make me like him.
I think I’m almost to the point where I use the word hate on him. I don’t know what it is, sometimes I find myself half liking the guy, but then he goes and ruins it. Hates, a strong word, but it doesn’t mean I haven’t used it..
I mean, I knew I was going to have to eventually do my detention, but I was hoping he would just let me off the hook, for today at least.
I laid on my stomach laying with my head at the foot of Remus’ bed with my face shoved in my charms textbook. I missed a lot of instruction that week, but at least I don’t have to do all the essays. Remus was busily scribbling away on one of his. It was just me and him in here. Sirius and Peter were out doing whatever they do. Lily and James were on a lake date and I have been laying in here studying with Remus. All I could think about though is was detention with Sirius this evening.
“Do you think Sluggy will make Black and I work together?” I asked sitting up and leaning against a pillow.
His bed was more comfortable than mine, why is that? I deserve a comfy bed too, stupid men.
He turned around from his work, “I’m not sure. He usually does. Sirius isn’t all that bad, it could be worse.” He explained.
“He’s the one that made me have detention for a week anyways, and the reason I have it on a Saturday.” I continued my case against him while crossing my arms.
“Well, think about it this way, now you’ll be done with your detention by Wednesday.” He replied cheerily.
I threw my head back in frustration, “But that’s five days with Sirius.” I said sadly.
Lupin got up and come and sat next to me, “Give him a chance to be your friend, you might be surprised to find that you actually like him.”
“Like what? Surprised to find myself in even more detention because of him?” I came closer to Remus and laid my head down on his shoulder.
He gave me one of his looks that said, ‘Come on Cass.’ You know, I get these looks from a lot of people. I’m pretty sure that it’s a bad thing, oh well. Like I give a shit.
“You really just need to give him a shot.” he said sincerely. He was very serious about this whole situation. He wanted me to give Black a chance to be my friend.
I can’t say no to Remus. His face his undeniably adorable. You just can’t say no to that face. Damn it.
It came up like word vomit, I tried to stuff it back down, but I couldn’t, not when I was looking into his sad eyes. “Okay, I’ll give him a shot.” I said quietly and begrudgingly.
“That’s a good girl!” He said enthusiastically, patting my head.
I can’t believe he just pat my head.
I’m not a dog. Though, I’m not going to lie, I’m as feisty as a werewolf. “I’m not a dog Remus.” I chuckled and he joined me, giving a little color to his pale face.
I positioned myself so I was facing him completely, I placed a hand on his cheek and shook my head, “You’ve been looking sick for days. You need to take something. Tylenol?”
He blinked a few times and brought his large hand up to mine, slowly pulling it away from his face and smiled. “I’m fine Cassandra. I promise. Plus, even if I did need to take whatever they are, they wouldn’t help me.”
Maybe if he’d just try it. I swear sometimes muggle medicines work better and are easy. Wizards are so closed minded.
MUGGLES TO THE RESCUE.
No, but seriously.
“What’s going on with you Remus?” I asked slowly and quietly, “I noticed, even when we didn’t hang out much, every once in a while you would look really sick..” I placed a hand back on his cheek, even if he didn’t want it there, “You can tell me anything, you know that right?”
He didn’t blink this time, but he did open and close his mouth like he was a little guppy fish. “I-” He began, “It’s complicated Cass.”
I pursed my lips and once again rearranged myself on the bed. My head was at the foot of the bed and my legs were propped up on Remus’ lap. “Well I’ve got-” I looked over at the clock, “Three hours until detention, explain.”
“Cass.” He protested.
“Remus.” You shot back with a smile, “You can trust me remember.”
There was a long pause where he looked like he was having an internal monologue. “Okay, Cass, you have to promise to hear me out.”
I nodded and kept the smile plastered on my face. I hope it didn’t look like a scary smile. I’m trying so hard.
Stop smiling. Okay, that’s better. My cheeks were hurting.
“It happened when I young,” He said looking the other way, “I was bit-” He didn’t get a chance to finish his sentence because the door burst open and in fell Lily and James. In a heated snogging session.
Ew, now James has Lily pressed against a wall. Do they even know we’re in here? I slowly allow my head to turn to Remus who shakes his head with mystified eyes and the same look of bewilderment.
“Should we? Ya’ know.” I asked in a hushed whisper.
Remus shrugged his shoulders and our gaze drifted back to the wildebeests who were so deep in the moment they didn’t see two people chillin out watching them. Oh god, they were really getting into it.
Damn Lily, where’d you learn to do that?
James’ hand begins to work its way up Lily’s shirt, and I felt like I’m about to throw up. My poor Lily has had her innocence taken away by this savage. I think it’s time to intervene, Remus had the same thought as be because we both shouted, “GUYS.”
They pulled apart like mating cats who had just had water thrown on them. Lily still had her back to the wall, and James was looking confused and angrily at Remus and I.
“When did you guys get here?” Lily asked while using the back of her hand to wipe her mouth, I’m guess James saliva, from her face.
“We’ve been here.” I said widening my eyes and tilting my head to the side, “Nice show, you got to teach that one thing-”
“THAT’S ENOUGH.” Lily yelled, there was a small silenced that followed, but soon everyone just broke out in huge fits of laughter and the room was filled with joy. This whole situation was pretty funny, I would of never expected that from Lily.
But, I’m not going to lie, I kind of want to really snog someone now.
Maybe I could find someone in the corridors who’s down for an evening snog. I’ve only kissed 1 boy, so that settles it. I need a snogging buddy asap.
Lily and James walked about to his bed amidst the laughing and began to cuddle close to each other.
