8. Running Off

It had been a week since we were placed on teams and Jacob still wasn't talking to me, Conner still hated me, Josh had slowly become meaner, and Dylan didn't care. Nothing was going right and I was crying myself to sleep almost every night. Today was the day we left the Wall and walked into Titan Territory for a scouting trip. Getting out of my bed I walked over to the bathroom and splashed water on my face, trying to wake myself up before Josh came to get me. Once done I got dressed, which included pulling my hood up, and grabbed my bag before seeing the picture on my dresser of me and Jacob on our first day of training, we were both smiling and laughing, happy that day. I picked it up and threw it across my room, where it slammed into the wall right next to Josh who had just opened the door. "Holy shit Kiali, watch it. You nearly hit me!" I rolled my eyes and stormed out past him and the other two right into the grounds. Taking a deep breath Conner followed me, pulling the other two along side him. "The Wall will lift in 2 minutes. Please join your teams and go over your mission details once more." The voice over the intercom echoed, then shut off. "We know our mission, just get on your horses." Dylan jumped onto the brown horse in front of him, Conner onto his grey and Josh onto his white, I climbed onto the black on I had been given, then pulled my hood off. A hiss came from behind me and I turned to see Jacob and his team, his eyes were narrowed, looking at my hair. "You cut it..." He growled, and I nodded. It was true, I had taken the knife yesterday and cut it off until it was shoulder length, my bangs shorter as well. "Kiali, look forward, Jacob return to your team. "Josh rode up beside us, his eyes flicking between us. Nodding my head I turned back, my hair whipping back as Jacob turned his horse and started off back to his team. "3...2...1...The gate is now open." A loud noise echoed through the air and I flinched, seeing the wall open into what use to Wall Maria, my old home. My heart dropped as the horses in front of my started off, I kicked the side of mine and followed suit, leaning down to move faster.

Cheering rang out from all sides and I turned to see the cities people clapping and smiling at us, cheering us on. "Wow...the scouts!" a small girl with black hair sighed, her eyes wide in admiration. They were so happy being on the inside that they didn't know what was on the outside anymore, and that scared me. The gate shut the moment the last horse had run out and Josh sped past me, followed by Conner. "Hurry up you two, we head to the front." I kicked again and caught up with him, passing Lisa and Jason who stared at me darkly, but I turned my head. "TITAN 10 METERS ON YOUR LEFT!" Someone called out at us I turned my head, almost falling off my horse. "Switch to 3D!" Josh called out, jumping off his horse and clicked his gear, the metal snapping into a wall. I knew Jacob was near by and I suddenly felt n urge to how him I didn't need him, to prove to him he needed me. I stood up on my horse and flipped over high into the air before clicking my own handle and sending the metal out. I sailed past Josh who gave me a sudden smile, then called to Conner. "You take to Head, we have the legs!" He nodded and flew up, flying past it's huge hand and landing on it head. "Ready...GO!" I pulled my gear back and turned around quickly, lifted my blade, and shot back, slicing it legs right as Josh did. The titan gave a horrible yell before dropping to the ground, it's body already smoking. We landed back onto the horses Dylan had grabbed and raced off, shooting past the other teams. "Wow...that was Josh's team course it was good." I smiled to myself, kicked again, and caught up with Dylan who was smiling. "Nice flying rookie, not even Josh could fly like that."
